Movie Stuff You Only Now Just Realized - Part 2

I can't watch movies with helicopter crashes. I was a crew chief on Blackhawks, and to this day, I have nightmares where I'm on a helicopter that is crashing. Seeing that in a movie holds no charm for me.

most of the cast have worked together in other films as different characters (not always sharing the screen tho)

Mike Clark Duncan and Bruce Willis were in Whole Nine Yards and Sin City
Afflek and Tyler were in Jersey Girl
Willis and Thorten were in Bandits

there MAY be more but those were the only ones I could think of off the top of my head ;).

Affleck and Duncan in Daredevil.

Broken Arrow must be the worst movie ever for you.

I loved the movie so much it took me ages to realise that in The Avengers,
nobody says "Avengers assemble" or even "assemble".
It's not a big deal or anything, just an odd thing to overlook.

In Predator,The Predator blasts the black guy's head and it blows up or part of the head does!..Soon after the camera shows the guys face and only has some blood stains on his head..WTF??????

If Ed Norton hadn't played Banner, I probably wouldn't have liked The Incredible Hulk.

Wow, I can only imagine. I thought the crash scenes in Black Hawk Down were pretty terrifying.

I just realized that Major League 2 is rated PG. Ever since it came out I've always thought it was rated PG-13. It's kinda shocking to realize ML1 is rated R while ML2 is PG. Another thing about ML2 is that I think the story would have worked a little better if it was set 2-3 years after the first movie insted of being the next season.

Pretty sure they're R and PG because PG-13 was yet to be created. Both would be PG-13 today

PG 13 rating came about in 1984 (Red Dawn).

Major League debuted in 1989 and earned it's R, mostly due to foul language lol. Major League 2 came out in 1994 and was fairly watered down compared to it's predecessor.

I'm pretty sure PG-13 existed by then, didn't Temple of Doom help create it since it wasn't enough for an R but to much for a PG. I know it was a Spielberg movie I'm just too tired to look into it for clarification right now.

Correct

Adoption of PG-13 rating

In 1984, explicit violence and gore in the films Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Gremlins caused an uproar among parents over their PG rating. Their complaints led Hollywood figure Steven Spielberg, director of Temple of Doom and producer of Gremlins, to suggest a new rating to MPAA president Jack Valenti for movies that have too much adult content to be rated PG, but not quite enough to be rated R. Spielberg's suggestion was for an intermediate rating of PG-13 or PG-14. On conferring with cinema owners, Valenti and the MPAA introduced the PG-13 rating on July 1, 1984, indicating that some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. The Spielberg films were never re-rated.

The first film distributed with a PG-13 rating was Red Dawn (1984). Dreamscape and The Woman in Red were released on the same day the following week. The Flamingo Kid (1984) was the first film to receive the rating, but was not released until December 1984.

Ah very cool, thanks for covering my lazy ass and looking it up for me. :woot:

I'm pretty sure "poltergeist" was one of those films too. I usually see it listed with gremlins as one of the deciding factors

Can someone explain to me why Wesley Snipes was replaced with Omar Epps as Willie Mays Hayes?

Did he want more money or something?

The Skyhook technology from 'The Dark Knight' is actually featured in the james bond movie 'Fireball'.

Hmmm not really sure. He was already well on his way to stardom by the time ML2 rolled around. Who wants to do a watered-down baseball sequel after New Jack City, Passenger 57 and Demolition Man? That said money might have been a factor as well.

This reminds me that I don't yet have the Wild Thing edition of Major League.
