Movie Stuff You Only Now Just Realized - Part 7

The Emperor's New Groove was originally going to be a dramatic film, called 'Kingdom of the Sun', from the director of The Lion King.

The story was going to be a loose adaptation of 'The Prince and the Pauper' with Kuzco switching places with Pacha, (voiced by Owen Wilson) making him Emperor and Kuzco then living the quiet life as a Llama herder.

In the movie, Yzma wants to be young again and had a plot to block out the sun. Kronk was nonexistent in the film. Yzma instead had ghouls and mummies as her lackeys. In the end, she gets thrown into the sun and dies.

Disney execs thought it was too dark and the project was scrapped and reworked into 'The Emperor's New Groove' 20% of the film was completed (along with a musical number by Eartha Kitt, which made its way onto the film's soundtrack) by the time it was scrapped.

He was in a few episodes as Monica's (Courtney Cox) rich boyfriend.

Not just Happy Hogan either, they also had Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in a recurring role later in the show as Phoebe's (Lisa Kudrow) endgame love interest.

For the movie Interstellar, Christopher Nolan had a 500 acre cornfield grown for the movie after Zack Snyder had a cornfield grown for Man of Steel. Nolan also ran a side business selling the corn to make back some of the budget on the movie.

Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and the Grandmaster (Goldblum) also showed up.

'Collateral' and 'Django Unchained' have very similar scenes where Jamie Foxx is in a tight spot surrounded by strangers with guns. Then he thinks "what would my new best friend who's a professional killer say in this situation?" So he starts talking like that, and it works.

And yet he complained about superhero movies killing originality a few months back.

General Hux and Caleb (Ex Machina) are played by the same actor :funny:

Toy Story's Sid was likely influenced by Beavis & Butt-Head, as he liked rock music, broke stuff, and wore similar clothes to Butt-Head.

Just saw Honey I Blew Up the Kid for the first time in probably 25 years, and realized:

A.) Keri Russell was the son's love interest, and
B.) John Shea's turn as the villain here is probably what got him the Lex Luthor gig on Lois & Clark.

Adam Lambert the lead singer of Queen has a cameo in Bohemian Rhapsody

'Get Out' and 'A Quiet Place', which are already kind of spiritually tied (popular comedy actor directs new horror classic) have something else in common: both originally had much grimmer endings, until their respective directors decided, nah, we don't need to go that far, let's end it on a more positive note.

[minor spoilers for Hereditary]

Hereditary has something in common with Highlander:
-
paranormal forces triggered by decapitation.
