why the hell did sony want to make the vultress that is beyond me hell raimi probably wanted black cat but sony thought it was a catwoman rip off
Black Cat is a Catwoman rip off. Sexy atheltic cat burglar, switches between goodie and baddie, and has a romantic interest in the hero.
Can't stand Black Cat myself. Awful character.
Agreed. I think it was Raimi's way of giving them a happy ending. Not adding a baby in their for Peter to be EMO about all film.
But, fans overreact to news without knowing the full story.

Just like how this is all an over reaction. I've spent way to much time on the forum today and guess what we've learned nothing about the new film really or the previous film that is canceled other than hype. I'm gonna try to avoid coming on here for a while cause I tend to get caught up in conversations that truly won't amount to anything but arguments over a movie that isn't even being made anymore and a reboot that everyone is assuming will be the be all end all of Spidey films with quip(do you think anyone at Sony knows what that word means?) So I'll be back when something is announced. I'm sad That I've been excited for Spider-Man 4 since they announced May 5th 2011 months ago then in turned into a giant sh** storm in weeks, but looking forward to hearing new news for the Spidey Reboot and that's all folks.
They won't make Spidey gritty and dark. Because that wouldn't make business sense. Spidey is popular because of the humour.
It means we won't get any ****** dance routines and cheesey, corny melodrama. Which is a good thing.

Jesus, yesterday I was confident it was the right move, now after reading that I'm convinced. I can't believe that the Vulturess rumour was actually true. Good god Sony, the sooner Marvel Studios retains the rights to Spider-Man the better. You may not all realise it but Sam Raimi sacrificed himself for the sake of the fans, he didn't want to put us through such a horrific film. You left on a great note by doing this Sam.![]()

FROM WIKIPEDIA:
In 1979, creator Marv Wolfman was looking for a female foil for Spider-Woman. He decided to base a character on a Tex Avery cartoon "Bad Luck Blackie" in which a black cat brought misfortune to anyone in close proximity. The Black Cat's costume and appearance were designed by Dave Cockrum.[1]
When Wolfman changed writing assignments within Marvel Comics to Amazing Spider-Man, he brought his character with him. On the bottom of the letters page of her first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #194, a thumbnail of the intended cover for Spider-Woman #9 (as well as a rejected cover for Amazing Spider-Man #194) appears.
The Black Cat is sometimes mistakenly considered an homage to DC's Catwoman,[2] yet Felicia Hardy's signature low cut black costume, cat burglar profession, and steady relationship to Spider-Man, predate Selina Kyle's similar depiction in comics by almost a decade. Catwoman originally appeared in comics as "the Cat", a maskless cat burglar in a green dress and unrequited love interest for Batman,[3] but later on became a gimmick supervillain that used big cats for elaborate crimes.[4] Although she was eventually given a black catsuit in the television series, her modern incarnation combining these elements didn't occur until 1987 with Frank Miller's classic Batman: Year One.[5]
CBR: "When you created the Black Cat to be Spider-Mans new girl friend, was it linked to a desire to write stuff about Catwoman or was it only an homage?"
Marv: I didn't plan Black Cat to be in Spidey. I created her for Spider-Woman (look at the letter column of the first B.C. story and youll see). I then decided to leave Spider-Woman and moved her over. So, I never even thought of Catwoman when I did her. I got the idea for her from a Tex Avery cartoon, Bad Luck Blackie.
The Black Cat has been the star and co-star of numerous miniseries and appears as a supporting character in various Spider-Man titles.
...Stop with this Batman-superiority. For once i can said Catwoman is a rip-off of Black Cat.
Agreed. I applaud Sam walking. He went down this road, and learned from his mistakes. He tried to fix the problems this time (unlik with SM3), and he has handled this situation like a true professional. I am sad his Spider-Man is over, and SM3 is his final legacy. But, I think he did the right thing..
i hope this is not rushed like xmen3
