The Amazing Spider-Man Moviehole scoops details on both scripts...

Lol more TDK? Whats gonna be the opening scene of the movie? Green Goblin robbing a bank then in the next scene Spidey stopping a mob meet.

I guess ignoring some of the comics like him marrying and having a baby while telling others to go read this certain story makes you so smart:awesome:
Exactly! I wanted to see Peter continue to grow in Raimi's franchise. But thanks to Sony, that isn't happening.

So you want Spider-Man stuck in High School for 6 films. No thanks:o I guess ignoring some of the comics like him marrying and having a baby while telling others to go read this certain story makes you so smart:awesome:

Well yea, in the comics them having a baby was part of the Clone ****storm... oops I mean Saga.

No it doesn't make me smart. But Spideys best ever stories feature him in high school. Spideys widely claimed best EVER story is Death of Gwen Stacey. I'd like the possibility of that in film.

That's it. I can hope this reboot will be crap. But by reading the outline of SM4 I KNEW it would be crap. I like those odds.

Right...

Vulture being the editor of the Bugle, not JJ. Raimi's idea.

Black Cat being Vulture's daughter and falling in love with Pete (hello another love triangle!) Raimi's idea.

Pete and MJ having a baby  Raimi's idea.

Toomes was in prison in the script and escapes, how would be be editor of the Bugle? Vulturess was Sony's idea. They wanted Black Cat connected to Vulture and thought Vulturess would be better. Pete and MJ having a baby like in the comics...OH NOES:wow:

Kinda like Deadpool looking like Barracka, having laser eyes and teleportation, etc... Yet you loved you some Deadpool in Wolverine...cough:awesome: Pleeeeeeeeeeeease:o

No, I loved some WADE WILSON in Wolverine... Seriously, give it up.

Yea they had a baby in the comics... in the CLONE SAGA. Which was a terrible, terrible story arc, so don't bring that up as a defense.

Toomes is in prison in the script? Err... no, he's not. Where the hell did you get that from?

There is much more to Spidey's early stories than mere "girl troubles". That wasn't really the focus at all.
There is much more to Spidey than Pete whining about having a baby. Was the entire series when he had a kid him only whining and wanting to quit? No. Yet, Ace can't think outside of that. I was merely mocking him by having a polar opposite opinion on him. He cannot seem to understand that I was mocking his ignorance. He thought SM4 would ONLY be melodrama crap but he thinks going back to high school will not include melodrama crap.

No the entire series of him having a kid was retconned because it was crap. Everyone knows this. The Clone Saga is nothing to be using in a defense.

did you even read the article i am bat just posted

Raimi wants to have a criminal known as the Vulture act as the primary antagonist in the film while the studio, which dislikes the idea of the winged wrongdoer, is pushing for a romantic sub-plot involving a burglar named the Black Cat in addition to another villain.

Chase is ignorant, ignore him.

Everything has been retconned:huh::dry: Every new adaptation of Spider-Man has different details than the previous incarnation.

Yea I know everything has been. The baby thing was something that needed to be retconned. EVERYTHING that came out of the Clone Saga needed to be retconned.

No I am right about the Vulture. The articles said it a few weeks ago, the report in the OP says it.

Vulture was going to be editor of the Bugle, for some stupid ****ing reason.

Oh yea I know why! Raimi likes his villains to be personally connected to Spidey! Just like the way he made Sandman Uncle Bens killer! :D

I am not a fan of the clone saga by any means...but having a kid is not something that is far out there bat **** crazy that would be stupid. This isn't Madame Webb or some completely stupid plot device. It is a kid. It is a way for the character after three films to grow instead of us seeing him stuck in the same situations in each movie.

Being a SUPER-Raimi-HATING troll isn't helping your cause... I'm not saying that Raimi didn't have some bad ideas, but you blind hatred of him isn't helping your point come across any better...

I understand that. It is about growth.

But the majority of people were complaining about too much emphasis on relationship trials and tribulations and all that crap.

What do they do? Introduce a ****ing baby?

Please provide a link. Last thing you claimed that you knew ended up being bunk because you didn't believe me. Last I read, he was in prison and breaks free. How was Toomes going to take over for JJJ? I seriously want to read the report.

Moviehole has details on both scripts.

Basically for SM4:
- Spider-man 4 DID feature Peter and Mary-Jane with a baby.
- Vulturess was added in the script, at the request of the studio.
- Vulturess was a retooled version of Black Cat.
- Vulture was the editor of the Daily Bugle.
- Script was apparently pure crap.
- Raimi had lost hope in the project and walked.
- The studio also wanted to add a third villain.
- Anne Hathaway was gone from the project late last year (my guess is when Sony turned the Black Cat into the Vulturess).

For the reboot:
- The script is much better than the script for Spider-man 4.
- The script IS complete, and was finished at the same time as SM4, allowing the studio to compare the two.
- The script was commissioned as a contingency plan, should Raimi walk.
- Unfortunately, they describe the script as "more Dark Knight than Spider-man".
- The new film is the first part in a new trilogy.
- The aim of the script is to cut the "fluff" - which they speculate means no humour and a serious tone.

I was happy about the reboot. Not that I didn't enjoy Spider-Man 1 & 2, which I enjoy for what Raimi got right. But, I wanted a reboot for what was wrong: Dunst, the Goblin's costume, Spider-Man not quiping (and to that extent Maguire), etc.

But, reading this does not give me hope. Dark Knight is good for Batman, not Spider-Man. This sounds like they do not have the proper grasp on the character.

You want to do this thing right? Bring in the crew from Spectacular Spider-Man!

Just click page 1 on this thread.

And for the other article search the Spidey forum. There is a whole thread dedicated to the plot outline that was released. There'll be links to articles there.

I wanna make this clear. I LOVE the first two Spidey films and I LOVE what Raimi did with them.

But with all the interference from the studio, Raimi coming up with some dumb ideas (IMO) SM4 was doomed.

And I'd personally rather hope the reboots would be good, rather than KNOW SM4 would not reach the heights of SM1 or 2 and be more like 3. Wouldn't you agree with that mentality?

I don't see how no one can see Sony and Raimi are both to blame for what was becoming of Spidey 4. And if Sony really just wanted ''their" Spider-Man 4, they would've went ahead with the script containing Vulture,Vulturess, and a possible 3rd villain.

But yet, everyone seems to glaze over the fact they prepared a second option because they TOO didn't like where Spidey 4 was going. So they can blindly follow Raimi around just because he's the genius director he is.
