Movies you enjoyed (or are greatly looking forward to...)

Based on characters you aren't particularly fond of?
I'll start with "Iron Man". I hate the character with a passion, but I think the movie is gonna kick @$$.

I must admit, I wasn't into Blade before the movies came out either. And I still think the majority of his comics suck, especially the ones printed since his celluloid debut. I liked his one-shot "Sins Of The Father", but that's about it.

Yeah, I've never been particularly fond of or interested in Blade. The character as portrayed in the books just never really captured my interest. The movie, however, did. It's just one instance in which adaptation served the character well in my opinion.

Let's see:

Comics Blade-wooden sword, wooden knives, goofy-looking goggles & pimp/thug jacket, and his only power was immunity to vampire bites. Lot of good that'll do if Frost decides to rip your throat open or toss you off a roof!

Movie Blade-titanium sword, automatic firearms, silver stakes & glaive. Killer martial arts moves. Bad@$$-looking leather trenchcoat & body armor, along with superhuman strength, speed, agility & a healing factor.
Yup. Movie Blade wins it.

Any others? I liked the Spawn movie-moreso than not, though not as much as the HBO series; but I never cared for the comic.

Anyone know anything about the upcoming Watchmen film? I'm not heavily versed in comicbooks, but the Rorshach character looks cool.

Actually, I almost want to say Superman.

I am not really into Superman, either. I liked Christopher Reeve, & was able to enjoy the first two movies really because of his portrayal. The other three were crap, IMO.

Truth be told, I can add Batman to the list. In '89, I wasn't much into the character, hadn't read much of his comic & like many people, my perception of him had been tainted by the Adam West abomination.
