I bet this has already been addressed in some other thread, but, because i usually don´t came here....
What are your thughts about:

* Gwen Stacy being in the movie? Because there is no point whatsover. It looks to me as some cheap drama.
* 4 villains is just too much, it will never work, because, at least one of them, is going to be misused and the characters don´t deserve to be disrespected.
* Raimi said, when filming the first movie, that he doesn´t like Venom and sees no point in using Gwen because her only use is to die. But, all of a sudden, we have a movie with both Venom and Gwen
Doesn´t anyone think that Raimi is being pressed by Columbia and Marvel to use the characters? Because, like i said, there is no reason to use Gwen now.
* What about Venom? Does anyone else thinks that he is going to be totally diferent from what he is in the comics? He is going to be more of a evil Spider-Man than anything else?

Address more issues that you see fit...
And before someone accuses me of being a Troll (because people tend to be that stupid), this are actual concerns, not wanting to start a war.

Last time I checked people can change their mind. In fact, people do it quite often. So what Raimi said 4-5 years ago doesnt mean much in my opinion.

Second of all, the Spider-Man movies are not a cinematographic adaptation of the comics. It's Raimi's own interpretation of the Spider-Man story. People should really stop comparing the movies to the comics.

That being said. Have a nice day! :)

Totaly agree, we have like 90+ mins to tell the story of 4 villans + spideys + Gwens story as well, true Harrys is half told but that still leaves 3 more. and its not asif they have been in the other films as well (like Conners (if its not him as the 4th)) I think one of these people is going to be layed to waste.

And if Sony are putting pressure on Sam to put in Gwen and Venom shame on them because they are just rushing it and it will turn into another lame trilogy

4 villians won't be too much as long as Shocker is taken out by Spidey within 5-10 minutes of the opening of the film.

^ Yeah, I don't see the fourth villian being anything more than a nod to the comics.

Hard to tell at this point, she could have pivotal spot in the movie.

If one villain gets used up at the start of the movie I would be fine with that. Someone like Shocker, Rhino, Vulture, etc....Than we would have 3 villains to deal with with Harry's story already being told and Sandman not really needing much of a story to begin with.....If anyone, Venom would be my only concern of not getting sufficient time...plus there's always the chance he could be left until the end to be used in a sequel....

We don't know the whole story so we will have to see. Things change just like how Lizard was supposed to be in SM2.

* What about Venom? Does anyone else thinks that he is going to be totally diferent from what he is in the comics? He is going to be more of a evil Spider-Man than anything else?

I don't expect him to be a complete copy of the comics, which he won't, but I think there is going to be enough similiarities to be Venom. I am thinking he is going to be more closer to the original Venom without all the fanged teeth and such, which is fine with me...

Anytime man, we need more intelligent posters around here...

Sandman being uncle ben's killer. ****s on both the first film and the comics

I will say this, the more I hear of the plot, the less i'm liking it. :spidey:

The movie is coming off as lame to me.... i agree with the topic starter's post on every point. Jamming in a bunch of characters will not make this movie bigger/better than the first two. Gwen? She looks hot but looks out of place for a SM movie. Spiderman Celebration Day? LOL. I hope they dont F' this up.

Yeah, if they are not going to use Gwen the same way...why call her Gwen in the first place.
And to use her in the same way as the comics, now, it´s fairly stupid.

That´s the exact i was addressing when saying that, at least, one of the villains will be misued.

Yeah, we don´t...
I just find it weird and extremely convinient for both to be in the movie

Once again, if you are not going to use him as like in the comics (which i´m fairly convienced that it won´t), why use Venom in the first place?
To please the fans?
Not only is it not a valid reason, i can´t picture Raimi doing it for that reason, and so we return to the Columbia and Marvel pressing it on him.

Im with you on wondering what the funk gwen stacy's doing in this movie.

The four villians thing's alright. i'm guessing harry's going to be the boss and shocker and sandman or whoever are henchmen punching bags with no personality really and then there's venom who comes in late and gives spidey some trouble but turns good to save gwen or something like that so he's really not a full vilian.

I agree. It sounds like Gwen is being tossed in as a gimmick: 'oh look fans, we're including Gwen Stacey, but just as a little nod to the comics - she doen't have any real role, but at least she LOOKS like Gwen and shares her name...right?'

And 4 villains does sound like overkill. Hopefully #4 will be in the beginning and get taken care of quick. And GG won't probably be a villain the entire film. Still, that's already cutting into the time for Venom and Sandman - I just hope neither of these guys gets too shortchanged. In the first two films we had 1 villain who managed to carry things off just fine - I hope this isn't an indication that Raimi is lacking confidence in his villains to carry the weight of their role, hence delegating out the role of antagonist four ways....

I always thought that Sam didn't necessarily say he disliked Venom, but just that he didn't undertand his motivations as a villain because he was mostly familar with the classic comics and hadn't had much experience reading about the chracter. That could have easily changed in however many years its been since he quoted that.

My problems with this movie so far:

- Fanboys who jump into negative conclusions based on vague information and personal speculation before they see a single second of actual footage.

- And, huh... Yeah, that´s pretty much it.

Maybe Raimi just made a Venom version that he does like, and that's why were getting an evil spidey twin.

Hmm, no arguments here.

4 villians would be a bit much if it is crammed in and not fit for the story.

I'm not really concerned about the movie, i'll hold judgement until after i've seen the film. However;

Okay so we've got the Sandman, we've got Harry who is on his way to become a villain, and we've got Venom. And now we've got a fourth villain? How are they going to make this all work?

I mean following the first two films;

We've got alot of scenes of-

MJ and Peter "Do you love me": Okay, I know this is important but it takes up so much time as well. We've got other characters like Aunt May, Jonah Jameson, John Jameson, etc etc etc. We now have Gwen Stacy, Captain Stacy etc. This is all fine, but we've got four villains to mix up. How are they going to get the proper screen time they deserve? I mean, take Spider-Man 2 for example. I feel that Ock didn't get enough screen-time, and they had so many chances to do just that.
