My problems with the movie so far...

(Uh, so then there was no point whatsoever in having MJ in the comics, right. Just as there was no point in having both Lana Lang and Lois Lane in the Superman universe, right? Do you even know what is going to transpire? No, you're just opening wide to stick your foot as far in your mouth as possible. Have you only been with one partner your entire life? Is it allowable for a person or a character to switch partners or maybe even develop friendships? Truly one of the most thoughtless and (coincidentally) pointless statements I've read recently.)
Do you even know who Gwen Stacy is?
Or you just like to write crap?

Pagrebo said:
(Were 4 villains too many in Superman 2? What about the X-Men movies? Which characters were misused in those movies? It isn't the quantity that matters, it's the quality of the writing and direction that does.)
Which characters were misused?
Have you, at least, watch the X-Men movies?
Toad, Sabertooth...which one of those weren´t misused?
What about Lady Deathstrike?
Oh, right, she had huge Adamantium fingernails and fought Wolverine, that makes her just fine
And Superman II?
Non and Ursa are no more than henchmen (specially Non), and Non and Ursa don´t exist in the comics (at least, until that time), which makes them original, so you can make whatever you want with them.
But, i´ll give you that it all comes down to the writing, which as to be extremely good.

(Actually, he said that he preferred the classic villains. Rumor also has it that he wanted Gwen for SM1 to reenact her classic death from the comics. I do, however, think you may be correct that he was pressured to use Venom. The use of Gwen at this time was probably instigated by Dunst's plans to leave the franchise. So MJ will likely complete the Gwen story, and Gwen will become what MJ was in the comics. Perfect? No, but acceptable.)
I´ll giev that to you, i don´t remember is exact words...

Pagrebo said:
(Which version of Venom are you referring to? There is, in fact, a comic version of Venom that portrays the character as the anti-Spiderman. It may not be the most popular rendition, but it is pulled straight from the comics)
The most known one, the symbote/monster one, the one with the tongue and sharp teeth.

You are full of yourself, aren´t you?
Grow up, or at least act that you are more than 5 years old, because that just makes you look stupid, and i´ll stop treating you like a ******.

Do you even know who Gwen Stacy is? Good grief! Do you? Gwen was the first true love who ultimately died. In the movies, they may just be reversing things. If, and I say if, MJ dies in this movie, do you then understand the potential significance of Gwen? If not, then you need to go back and update yourself on the Spiderman mythos.
Or you just like to write crap? Wow, powerful, I mean POWERFUL reply. Just acknowledge that you didn't like me telling you that you put your foot in your mouth with your opening point, and I'll accept that I probably was over the top with that. By the way, I would LOVE to be able to write crap, but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I'll just leave that to the experts... like you!(you saw that coming, didn't you?)

Oh, right, she had huge Adamantium fingernails and fought Wolverine, that makes her just fine  Misused? Within the context and limitations of a two hour movie? None of them. You seem to be looking for the same expansive depth that a comic can bring out over the course of years. Based on that logic, not only are the villains misused, but the heroes and supporting characters in every movie made from comics, books and any other source material.
And Superman II?
Non and Ursa are no more than henchmen (specially Non), and Non and Ursa don´t exist in the comics (at least, until that time), which makes them original, so you can make whatever you want with them. Henchmen, perhaps, but villains just the same. So if the Spiderman movies had had a Sinister Six, would the other 5 have just been henchmen to Doc Ock (or whoever they chose to lead the group)? Oh, btw, I wasn't complaining how Non & Ursa were used. I was using them as an example to refute your argument that four villains couldn't work.
But, i´ll give you that it all comes down to the writing, which as to be extremely good.
So we're safe as long as you're not the writer, then??;)

I´ll giev that to you, i don´t remember is exact words...
Oh, and check your own spelling and grammar before you accuse someone else of being a stupid, ******ed five year old.

The most known one, the symbote/monster one, the one with the tongue and sharp teeth. Thank you for acknowledging my point, again. Look, everyone can have their favorite version of Venom(and there are threads on this very site for people to discuss it), but the reality is that there are numerous variations on Brock/Venom and it appears that Raimi is using at least one of those(Brock pre-bodybuilding days). We haven't even seen Venom yet, but several "insider" reports say he will have the tongue and sharp teeth.

You are full of yourself, aren´t you? "Oh Lord it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way!":) I probably am a bit on the egotistical side, but more importantly, I'm not taking myself so seriously as to get worked up every time someone on these boards challenges me. You should try it some time.
Grow up, or at least act that you are more than 5 years old, because that just makes you look stupid, and i´ll stop treating you like a ******. As a father, why do I feel a sudden urge to put you over my knee after washing your mouth out with soap?:) However, you can treat me any way you like. Your actions do not reflect on me, they reflect on you.

Have a nice day, Junior!:)

Getting back to the subject at hand , I would have preferred they have a more personal story focusing only on Peter , MJ, and Harry/Green Goblin.

However , I can see why Raimi from a storytelling vantage point wouldn't want a goblin villian by himself. People would think that they've run out of idea's and have used another GG becaues of the lack of other villians.

As far as the love triangle , we had them in the previous 2 films.
I think if you want to add tension to Peter and MJ's relationship , you focus on MJ's ability to coup with Peter being Spiderman. The question then becomes , can she really deal with him risking his life every night. She thought she could at the end of S3 but now that a couple of years have passed can she really deal with the possibility of losing him.

Think of the wife of a police officer or Soldier . They risk their lives every day for the good of the community but at the same token they have wives . Imagine what it would be like to have a spouse male or female who's in a situation were they may not return home after leaving . On one level you think you can deal with it , but then you start to go over different scenerio's . The question IMO shouldn't be whether MJ is jealous of his success but of whether she can truley share him with the world and potentially lose him. It's the Lois Lane dilema but that way you can get into MJ's head a bit . I pretty sure they've dealt with similar issue's in Peter and MJ's relationship in the comics so I think it would work well on screen .

Whose to say they won't do that with MJ? It's too early to really know anything about the plot. But I like that idea of seeing how MJ can cope with it. As long as it doesn't overshadow the rest of the story.

Are you stupid? ******? Mentaly ill? Fell on your head when you were a child? What?
You need to have an excuse for that...
Egotistical side? No, looking at the way to write, you are completly ridiculous.
If you didn´t had anything remotely intelligent to say, why did you replied to this thread?
This wasn´t rocket science, this was merely either you have concerns or not, that simple, that easy, even a 2 year old child would figure it out.
Oh, let me guess, you replied the way you did to make you look cool on the internet, is that it?
Please tell me i´m wrong, tell me you are a little more intelligent than that...for your children sake.

And no, i´m not worked up with your replies....is just that stupidity gets on my nerves.
Came down off your high horse for a moment and start to act your age

Egotistical side? No, looking at the way to write, you are completly ridiculous. What, exactly, is it you meant to say here? 'Cuz it just didn't come out the way you planned.
If you didn´t had anything remotely intelligent to say, why did you replied to this thread? Present tense, past tense, back to present tense, oh, wait, back to past tense? Slow down, and start with simple sentences... like "See Spot run.".... build up to the more complicated ones.

Oh, let me guess, you replied the way you did to make you look cool on the internet, is that it? I have really bad news for you. People do not and cannot look cool on the internet. I'm not here to impress anyone. Just trying to find people with whom to intelligently discuss topics. In your case, I'm making an exception.
Please tell me i´m wrong, tell me you are a little more intelligent than that...for your children sake. OK... you're wrong(but I imagine you're used to hearing that.)

And no, i´m not worked up with your replies....is just that stupidity gets on my nerves. Learn to write a complete, coherent(look it up) sentence, and then you'll be on the path to no longer getting on your own nerves!!!
Came down off your high horse for a moment and start to act your age Ah, but if I did that, I couldn't have such wonderful times with you!

And you might want to refrain from the insults, as the mods are supposed to look down upon behavior like that.

this thread crack me up.

not only cause of the fight taking place, but because it's just a silly thread that could've been posted in several other threads.

my problem with the reports on this movie is theres nothing on spidey using his intellucaul mind to defeat his villains since venom and sandman are stronger then him

I love people who "hate" a movie or have "serious problems" with it before we've even had a chance to see it. heck, all we are going by are some set reports and some word of mouth set about by Avid and Raimi.

1.) Four villians is nothing. Look at Batman Begins. You had Falcone, Zsasz, Scarecrow, and Ra's. I think each got a good amount of screentime and development (although Zsasz was only a nod to the fans). Some may scream that each villain won't get a proper background story. Remember that this movie is about Spider-man and his conflict with his foes, not the other way around. Hence, you are going to see more Peter/Spider-man than anything else.

2.)I have no problem with Gwen in the story now. Creates not only tension in Spider-man's life but Peter's as well. If fact, she could be just as developed as MJ. Depends on the writing.

3.)I don't think Raimi was pressured into using Venom. The first movie showed Peter discovering his powers and gaining the trust of the city. The second movie showed Peter coming to terms with who he is and how to deal with his duel identities. The third is going to deal with Spider-man finally gaining the respect of the city before his life is suddenly turned upside down. It seems like the natural progession of events to me. This is the story Raimi wanted to tell and the Symbiote fit the bill perfectly.

The main thing I have to say about people who complain nonestop...GET OVER IT!!! The movie is already in production and none of your ranting is going to change anything. In fact, I bet that 100% of all the complainers will still be the first ones to see the movie. Sounds very hypocritical to me.

What gets me is that spidey 1 and 2 are great movies. Why would people even doubt that 3 will be good? I trust Raimi. This guy knows what he is doing.

(tears well up in my eyes) Sniff, thanks, CF! Not to worry, though, I've read enough of your posts to know better than to question your opinions and how you reached them.

I really didn't intend to rile that young pup, but he kept coming back for more... so I felt a moral obligation to GIVE IT TO HIM!!!:)
