Transformers Negatron: Discussion Thread for those that hate the way this movie is heading

To make it look real, they can't really look like giant block-like robots.
XXwhat does "real" mean? No matter how they are designed, it is still a work for fiction...XX

XXwhat does "real" mean? No matter how they are designed, it is still a work for fiction...XX

Meaning....as of the comics/cartoons, they're blocky-looking...and what if they looked block-looking in the movie? Would that have satisfied the stupid fanboys even more?

And if you wanna annoy me using XX's, it really doesn't, so keep doing it my friend.

Yeah, it looked cool, but try bringin it into the real world - it looks like a massive Transformer toy - not slagging the animation off, I thought it was dope as hell, but it doesn't look like it could be real in 'our world', it doesn't look like a being from an alien civilisation that has come to earth and can now transform into a car - it looks ill, it could (with enough work) look real but it don't look anywhere near 'realistic' (note the commas! I'm talkin in terms of multi-million dollar movie)...like I said, I like how it looks, and it's the part of me that wanted all the 'bots in the film to look G1 - but things that look cool as **** in a cartoon or in a comic are hard to make look cool in real (movie) life (this is where you moan about how perfect the Iron Man costume is, or Spideys, or...) - you make 'em look G1 in the movie and to most people they'll look like quite 'simplistic' designs - and I personally think they've updated the designs of the Autobots (Ironhide and O.P look raw) and Decepticons (Blackout is an actual badman) pretty well...

...all I'm sayin is, there's a part of me that understands why Superman79 could say that, but there's a bigger part of me that's stopped given a **** and is just looking foward to see a Transformer transform and shoot someone in the face on the big screen...could've brought more of the G1 mythology into it though...

Good points. I guess I just wish they could have been just a little more faithful to the G1 designs...you could hav made Bays 'bots a little bit more um...not boxy, but...more substantial without them being blocky.

That aside, things could have been a little more faithful without being 'megazords and such': the heads didn't have to be "monster faces" or lack recognizable faces/mouths. Megs could have transformed into a cannon or tank (IE big GUNS) to stay a bit more faithful to the source. Oh, and Prime should have been ALL RED instead of having flames. There were many little things construction-wise (and story-wise) they could have done to be more faithful that would not have killed the 'realism'...and frankly THAT saddens me more than haveing to get used to a less blocky looking Prime...:csad:

it must suck to hate this movie so bad. I would rather have something to look forward to than to just think about all the things i hate

This is the Negatron thread. Why do you people keep posting here? This is a place for people to speak negatively about the movie...not debate. Is it that hard to understand?

I really wish BB had a mouth. that new hi-res picture freaks me out. All I see is the Gimp from Pulp Fiction. :(

Rathcet still looks like the lolrus :( Will he search for his bukkit?

Everytime I see movie Bumblebee's face I keep thinking of the Ro-Bear Berbils from Thundercats.

It would've looked better if they just used the 'battle mask' version of movie Bumblebee's head since it fits the overall 'bot mode they've chosen. I don't think the 'unmasked' version matches the rest of movie Bumblebee's look at all.

I'm still pretty irked about BB speaking through a speaker. Bay said he doesn't want BB to resemble Herbie the love bug but he's got BB as a mute car...who speaks through his stereo...through radio commercials and songs. GENIUS!

It's also kinda of a stupid plot device. He can morph a souped up engine but not a speaker? Go from old rusted Camaro to new souped up concept car hot-rod at the drop of a dime? But, still he can't talk? And, why would they send someone who can't communicate as a first-contact sort of scout? At the end TF #1 comic he couldn't really talk... but that's becuase he was low on fuel and dying. But, in the movie, since they have some limitless power supply ( :cmad: ), that doesn't make sense.

If that's not contrived, I don't know what is.

Here's my complaint then....

It's stupid how people are complaining this much about a movie.

Its stupid how people complain about people complaining. I can play this game all day.

And btw...welcome to The Hype. What the hell do you think goes on in other forums here?

I hate how Prime has that flame design, what the hell is that?! And the faces looked robotic to me, not more like a human face like in the cartoon, I like the human type face better.:trans:

Not to mention it's a plot hole you could drive a whole convoy :cwink: of semis through...

If Bumblebee can form a speaker when copying a Camero then he should regain his ability to speak long before the movie's story begins without any help from the other Autobots.

if you don't like it, don't enter the thread that was created for people to complain about the movie. it's a complex proposal, i know. but if you try real hard, i bet you'll be able to wrap your mind around it

True... But when you keep in mind that it was most likely made with but a tiny fraction of the budget that Dreamworks had to work with, the $$$ to quality ratio is all in the amateur's favor! Give that guy the movie's budget and I'd like to see what he would of made!

I agree with you, but leave these guys to this thread. your coming off as ignorent as the people who go into the positive thread to dump on the movie, or the guys in the Megan Fox thread who go there to BAG on her.

The faces look robotic because...they're robots.

Why would a Alien Robot have a human face...unless when they arrived on Earth they (the Autobots) changed there faces to look more human so humans could relate to them and not be afraid, (not a bad idea, actually) cos even BB looks terrfiying! Imagine if Spike and the hot bird had gone out in the car for a few joints - next thing you know you new Camero turns into...

...that...

would be that last thing you needed when you were high...

Bumblebee is such a media ****e...seriously, its getting annoying, i wish he'd get killed instead of you know who.

In the prequel comics, he can't use his voice box anymore because Megatron destroys it. And I might be wrong, but more than one Autobot was sent out as a scout. BB just happened to be the one to find it.

Sorry to drop in here and not be all negative. Carry on.

I hear ya man, they act as though he's the star of the movie (might possible be)...at least show us a Brawl shot.

For me he's ruining the movie. A non-talking Jazz rip-off stealing all other possible screentime from the really cool transformers.

He's the first Transformer to appear and he can't speak. So audiences who aren't familiar are going to think that they all can't speak like any other alien invasion movie. Weak idea...makes me want to bash someone in the kneecaps.
