Horror Netflix orders modernized 'Haunting of Hill House' from Mike Flanagan

Starting episode 3...

Mr. Smiley is going to be bad, isn't it?

And nope. Though a different kind of horrifying.

EDIT: And there are the tears. Good job Kate Siegal.

Many different monsters in the world. :(

So would you guys say this is genuinely scary?

If it is I may prioritize it over Daredevil. Trying to decide between the two.

This was way better than all the Marvel shows. Combined. :D

I'm only 4 episodes in, it seems more creepy than scary. And there have been some very, very creepy images.

But, from what I've seen of non-spoiler reactions to episode 5, I haven't even begun.

It takes a lot to scare me, but I liked the mood of this and the characters were very fleshed out and real. :)

It doesnt rely on cheap jump scares, and its frequently creepy, and a really good story about a family. I agree with Squeeks. It's better than all the Marvel shows combined.

Episode 5 and 6 were the scariest for me

That moment in episode 8...if you've watched the episode I think yall know which moment I'm talking about...scary movies sometimes make me jump a bit or say a four letter word, but I dont lose control enough to really scream loud. I screamed at that moment in episode 8. Loud enough to make my throat hurt. :woo:

I've heard a lot of good things about this one. Will have to get around to asap.

Episode 5: slow clap.

That was a brilliant ending. Damn. Did not expect that.

They obviously put a lot of thought into the writing and didn't go just for cheap thrills. :)

I need to find time to watch this before October ends. I need that Mike Flanagan goodness.

Welp, Episode 6 ended up being a whole lot creepier than I anticipated.

Some great emotional acting, though.

As always with netflix shows I bing watched this one even if I sould not have.
Anyway it was creepy as creepy can be, no cheap scare. Good family drama without being over emotionnal

We finished e6 last night, wow. The 3-4 "one-take scenes" were astounding. Nothing has made me jump as much as the statue simply turning it's head in the hallway during the flashback when the mom was looking for Nell.

Welp, episode 8 made me jump like nothing else has before. Literally yelled "Jesus".

I do know now. Jebus.

Hee hee, I like it when something makes me jump. It doesn't happen often. :p

Episode 9

So, Abigail was real, huh. ****

EDIT: And done. Not sure when I will be able to eat eggs again, though.

Great series. I hope they let Flanigan do something similar, as this was a great story.

Hell, it deserves a rewatch after those last few episodes.

Finished it last night. Absolutely fantastic, atmospheric, creepy as hell, downright scary and enthralling.

What a series. Interested to see where they could potentially take a second series.
