Looking forward to the next trailer. We will know a lot more after that. So far we've only been teased.

Forgot to post this.

I guess the argument "New Mutants was never a horror series" can rest in peace.

The New Mutants are launching themselves headfirst into some of the creepiest corners of the Marvel Universe, going on the missions no one else will. But does the team know what they are really hunting for? And what are they willing to do to get it? The enigmatic MAGIK will lead her team of WOLFSBANE, RICTOR, BOOM-BOOM and STRONG GUY and bring them face-to-face with paranormal threats that they may not be prepared for, and that might just tear them apart! Rising-star writer Matthew Rosenberg (PHOENIX RESURRECTION) teams up with future superstars Adam Gorham and Michael Garland (ROCKET) to bring you the next chapter in the lives of Marvel’s underdog team. Welcome to the new class of New Mutants — hope you make it out alive.

Because they were never a horror series.

And its obvious the new limited series is cashing on the new movie. Its coming out in March while the movie is out after month after. That's not a coincidence.

They weren't a direct horror series but they dealt with far more paranormal storylines and foes that had horror elements. (Belasco, Hell, Limbo, vampires, Demon Bear etc.)

No it was confirmed to be entirely by chance.

Sure! Just like theres a Legion comic series coming out just in time for Legixn's second season.

They are probably saving that for the second trailer. They need to start showing money shots if they want more people to see this horror film.

You mean if they want to get you to see this horror film..

Those things on her head... they're there to hide her horns, right? That's cool.

To my mind....if a writer or director wants to make a horror movie....then make it. But why drag in characters previously portrayed as superheroes into it? If you want to make a superhero movie that looks nothing like any previous superhero movie....then don't tie it in with the XMen. Create new characters that are not called mutants and don't have the MARVEL logo on it. Sounds like a bait and switch situation to me.

To give you an idea what I am talking about.....when I saw the trailer last night....my wife and daughter were there too. The trailer starts....the MARVEL logo appears....my wife smiles (she likes the XMEN movies) my daughter sat up and said cool....then the trailer plays.....when it ends, my wife says "What the hell was that?" and my daughter turns up her lip and said "Not interested."

So never experiment with tone and keep it looking like 'generic comic book movies" for all time? There has to be a happy medium.

Nate Walcott and Mike Mogis are reteaming with director Josh Boone on the upcoming superhero horror movie The New Mutants. The film starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt and Alice Braga is based on the X-Men spin-off comic book series of the same title created by Chris Claremont & Bob McLeod and revolves around five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, who fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.

I liked one song Walcott and Mogis did for Stuck in Love. I personally think its awesome how we're getting members of Bright Eyes to do the soundtrack for an X-Men film of all things though. Like Trent Reznor and Jonny Greenwood doing films for Fincher and PTA.

EDIT: Welcome to the forum Mya!

Thank you so much, Smilodon. :D

I won't be an active member of this forum because I don't share the opinion of some of its members, I'm not a comic book reader (and therefore not a proper fan), but I'll be collaborating every time I can.

I get news from you guys, so the less I can do is sharing the little I find with you all.

Nonsense! You don't have to read the comics to be considered a fan of anything at all! That kind of gatekeeping has no place in fandom or geekdom or what have you. Sharing opinions is what makes a fan community interesting (and when things get feisty, there's always the ignore option too, lol)

Agreed, its nice to have different outsider opinions otherwise its just the same thing all the time.

They're wondering if the good doctor is gonna leave us kids alone.
