Hi everyone. Been lurking around here for a looooong time lol. Finally decided to join in partly because of this "insider" thing. Here's my 2 cents:
Alright, I don't mean to be rude to anyone but don't you guys think that blindly believing Slugzilla's stroies is kinda...unwise? I mean, I can see why some users like Psylockolossus believe him (I guess pretty easy to mislead him, after all he is the one who accused Fox for "forgetting" to give Deadpool 2 a title) but why do everybody else are so quick to believe him as well?
I remember back in 2013, there was a guy who shared some big spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, such as Goblin breaking Gwen's neck, manhole scene being the final shot of the film etc, like 9 months before it's release (and no, it wasn't TeeKay), and people immediately started calling him a liar. That guy, if I recall correctly, had a long history with SSH, he had been posting some spoilers for other movies before TASM2 which turned out to be real as well.
Now, there's Slugzilla. What he did exactly to confirm his words and make you believe him? He hadn't posted for 9 years and his recent comments about this movie sound completely unbelievable.
1) Sentinels were supposed to be in it? Like what, this movie was supposed to be a 150-180 mill R-Rated film (which is already a really hard to believe) and that Boone was like "Nah, I don't need that money, give me less"?
2) That script he posted sounded like some fanfiction. Sentinels destroying buildings and landing on people thus killing them and their neighbours were watching it and were like "Yeaaah, go Sentinels!"?
3) His comments about Warlock being in the movie when it was said by Boone that he hopes to introduce the character in the sequel.
4) And now he claims that Laura is in the movie as well and he already met DK the other day.... Now that sounds completely ridiculous.
Once again, I'm not trying to offend anyone but that doesn't sound real to me at all. If he could provide some proof for his words that would be a totally different thing but the fact that he mentioned reshoots a couple of days before the official statement doesn't say much to me.
Where to start.. Where to start..
You sound like the surgeon general's warning on a box of cigarettes "believing stories you read on the internet is unwise, and may be harmful to your health". People can read what I've said and use their own discernment to determine the validity or lack thereof of what I have stated. No one needs you to save them from the harm of my posts. Lol
And in the very same paragraph where you claim that you don't mean to be rude to anyone, you directly insult another user, a bit ironic.
And correct me if I'm wrong but your issue with me is my post count?!?! Seriously?!?! If anything I would think my lack of posts and recent emergence would lend credence to what I've said. Much as you described yourself as a lurker, I have been the same, until we saw Boone's cut of what was my first ever superhero movie. I spoke out with the encouragement of several individuals involved in the production who had either been personally mistreated, belittled or disrespected by JB during production or had witnessed it occur to others.
I will now counter your conveniently numbered points.
1) Sentinels were in several early drafts. Fox then decided they wanted things cheap. Then Boone was brought in, whose message of "I can do this on the cheap, just let me make it straight up horror because I want to make a horror movie" really seemed to resonate with the executives for some reason. And no, despite your spin to the contrary, Boone does not automatically receive a bigger paycheck if the film has a bigger budget.
2) I never posted a script, I posted a general overview of what the draft looked like at an earlier stage from memory. And yeah, it may have sounded like fan-fiction to you, but it would've been bleeping epic.
Have you ever considered that perhaps one of the reasons why so many superhero movies are crap, might have something to do with the fact that there aren't enough actual fans of the properties involved in the creation of them? We had real fans early on.
3) Boone says a lot of things. He also said the movie would be good. He also said this movie would work as a straight up horror movie. He also said that the movie would be released this year. He also said he was a fan of the New Mutants. And, as you pointed out, he also said there would be sequels. Warlock is already in this thing, seen em doin the motion capture on some lanky dude.
4) These changes have been in the works weeks before the official announcement of the movie's delay. I actually met the entire cast. Nice people, a little moody at times, but who isn't? Especially around that creepy ass mental hospital..
In closing, believe whatever you like, friend, but I'm not going to be baited into providing any kind of info or proof I don't want to. I guess you'll just have to wait for official announcements.
