Feel terrible for Boone. This Disney deal is f’ing his movie up.

I'm not convinced it's related to Disney so much as the fact that they wanted to push back Dark Phoenix for whatever reason and that forced this movie back as well.

Also, Slug still making false rumors I see.

At a minimum, if he's posting actual spoilers, he should be putting them in spoiler code. It's pretty ridiculous that he could be allowed to completely spoil the movie like that. If he's just making things up, of course, that's fine in the open. He's obviously already backpedaled on one of the cameos he said was happening.

Honestly, have not frequented this board much. But, from here onward...tag ALL potential spoilers! This will be strictly enforced.

That said, given the news, I think this may end up as a straight to streaming dump, whether it be on Disney streaming or Hulu. But, I am thinking this won't hit theaters at all.

Some have. Typically but not always, it's a bad sign when a movie gets delayed this long.

JJ Abrams Star Trek was delayed like a year to summer 2009. That worked out for Star Trek.

The 13th Warrior (Michael Crichton book starring Antonio Banderas) was originally supposed to come out in Spring 1998 as "Eaters of the Dead." It was delayed to late 1999. This was a big budget movie that totally flopped.

Red Dawn remake starring Chris Hemsworth. Started shooting way back in 2009. Looked like it would get a 2011 release. MGM bankruptcy caused it to get delayed to 2012. Also had to change the villains in the film from Chinese invaders to Korean. Film also bombed.

Mad Max: Fury Road went through many production delays, but that was more during production. It was originally supposed to start shooting in 2011. It didn't start until 2012.

Repo Men with Jude Law and Forest Whitaker was finished in 2008 and not released until 2010.

So FYI, it's not unprecedented for big delays to happen for major film releases.

Arguably it might've helped GI Joe Retaliation in that case. However, it didn't get delayed as long as New Mutants. Also, Retaliation did well, but was not a huge hit.

It did help Star Trek, but the delay was not quite as long as New Mutants.
