I agree. If there was a chance to continue the franchise if it were good I could see a theatrical run. But there isn’t so best to just cut your losses and sell it to a streaming service rather than spend even more money on it.

WHAT HAPPENING WITH NEW MUTANTS? It's easy to forget, but, Dark Phoenix is not technically Fox's last X-Men movie. The studio has director Josh Boone's New Mutants dated for Aug. 2. The film was supposed to open in April 2018 ... and then it was pushed to February 2019, only to be pushed back again to August. Will it ever see the light of day under the Disney regime? (Likely yes.) Will it make it to theatres? (Umm...) Well, will it at least make it to Disney+ (Sounds like a safe bet.) But it still has reshoots to do, right? (None planned so far but things seem to be in the hands of Boone, say sources.)

Seems like whomever is running that account is just repeating everything I've been saying for months & months now, lol.

I still remember when everyone mocked me over the things I was saying about the movie that at the time we're deemed by most to be outrageous & ridiculous such as New Mutants not seeing theatrical release, about Disney having control over the fate of the movie, etc etc....

direct to Hulu, without extra money spent on marketing. If Fox isnt sure about its boxoffice, then dont waste more money and send it to tv, or a streaming service.
the main point is that Bonne and cast have the chance to show their movie, thats the least Fox owns to them. (and the fans) if the movie is not as great, each fan/viewer will judge for himself.

I prefer FXX as I don't want to subscribe to Hulu just to see this.

I actually like the idea of New mutants being the real last Fox movie.
that way, the franchise ends with a present day setting, and not a period movie with a remade plot from 2006. So I preffer the franchise to end with a fresh movie/concept, that would leave a better taste on me, I feel.

Yes it's essentially been collecting dust while the bigwigs tried to figure out what to do with it. There was at one time a plan for massive reshoots which would've included more characters, etc, but that never really got very far off the ground. So basically what we have at this point is Boone's untouched cut. That will be what we get if & when this movie sees release in some form.
