No. Because that would be funny. Apocalypse movie, I hope will be a serious movie, with some fun jokes from the 80's new students but no from Hank Mcoy. I would want a Kelsey Grammer speedo costume though.

I know people keep complaining that Hoult is human a lot of the time, but I think it's a case of filmmakers trying to honor the idea that Beast, for quite a lot of his early career, was human looking with big hands and feet. They sort of rushed his transformation in FIRST CLASS, and this is their way to have their cake and eat it, too. Classic Beast with a nod to his blue-furred version, more or less.

I kind of like it, though I suspect blue Beast is coming for good by the end of APOCALYPSE.

Singer wants as much face time as possible to play up Hank's insecurities. We all know that he ends up comfortable in his (blue) skin eventually, so it's just a matter of building that up. DOFP was a logical extension of his First Class arc; I expect to see Hank embrace his true form by the end of Apocalypse.

I doubt it's Hoult's decision either. He knew who he signed up to play, and Mad Max showed he's not afraid to be in make up for the duration.

Which is why I LOVE the scenes between Hank and Raven in DOFP. Don't care if it "slows" the movie down for the ADD crowd

LOL no one has posted in this thread since the first trailer release, it just shows how uninteresting the younger Beast is... I don't know the story for Beast yet, but I think they missed the opportunity to adapt "Dark Beast" in this.

I also think Nicholas Hoult lacks the commanding presence for Beast to appear as the leader of the X-Men.

So? Quicksilver was not even present in DOFP's 1st trailer and he ended up amazing unlike Beast.

And people here are still more interested to see Psylocke than Beast.

You know what, this is the thread for Beast and I bumped this thread for people to discuss him, not my favorite character Psylocke.

If you want to diss Psylocke because for her 1 second airtime in the trailer, you are welcome to discuss it in the Psylocke thread and a lot of people already expressed their disappointment for the lack of Psylocke in the teaser trailer.

Though trailer screentime is not an indication whether a character is gonna deliver or not.

You bumped the thread saying how uninteresting Beast is; don't try to say now you bumped it to discuss him.

Dark Beast has always been a lame storyline, and if there was a time to do it, it would have been post X3.
And Beast has commanding presence enough to be second in command to Mystique for Apocalypse.

Beast's character was never leader material in the comics, cartoons, etc. Don't know why he'd have to be one now, especially considering there's already characters that have stronger character motivation to be a leader. Even in DoFP, he's a follower, not a leader.

I would not be opposed to this either.

I'm fine with it not included in the theatrical cut
1) it follows a plot line that shows Beast as an idiot
2) main reason for Mystique infiltrating the mansion was for her to destroy Cerebro so Charles et al don't figure out where she's headed. Turns out they still figured out where she's headed.
3) why would you go back to the mansion when you don't want to be found.
4) did we really need to hear the Mutant and Proud line again?

He could use cerebro infact it's odd he could control all those people at the airport so it's surprising that he couldn't do it to mystique

It took nearly all of Charles to use Cerebro (blows up) and even after that he had to look into Logan's mind, see his horrible future and then had to communicate with his future-self. It wasn't as simple as how you portrayed it. What he did was the exact opposite of just "chill"ing there...

Also he says in the movie why he couldn't control Mystique. He was powerless just a few hours (?) ago from Hank's serum: "she's not letting me. I'm barely holding on. I'm not strong enough yet."

But again back on topic, it was pointless for Mystique to destroy Cerebro as in:
the theatrical cut, they knew where she was going from that woman seeing her plane ticket;
from the Rogue Cut, although Mystique destroyed Cerebro, Xavier just decided for the trio (X, Logan, Hank) to go to Washington, where lo and behold, Mystique was gonna be, probably unbeknownst to Charles at the time of his decision.

So Mystique's infiltration scene showed that:
1) Beast as an idiot;
2) Mystique as unsympathetic and ungrateful. Probably also an idiot for going back to the mansion when she didn't want to be found;
3) Only point was to feature a showmance between Beast and Mystique which is only rewarded in the movie when the two wryly smile before Mystique leaves at the end of the movie.

And the fact that he eventually wanted Mystique to make the decision on her own and not have him stop her using his powers.

Anyways, sorry Beast for hijacking your thread. If only Singer, Kinberg et al knew what to do with your character, people would have more discussions about you.
