Taking away The Joker's ghostly white skin, blood red lips, and green slicked hair, is the same as taking away Batman's suit, his clownlike appearance is iconic...it's not something you can take away for the sake of realism, it's just stupid..

I don't care how cool they make him,I will NEVER like the character of Robin. Batman,for me,is a dark loner. The last thing I wanna see is some "kid" hanging around him and always getting in trouble,once again causing Batman to rescue him. Robin may have been good for the comics,but I like my comic book films(or any type of movie)as realistic as possible. Well,everyone has their own opinion about whether they liked Robin or not. I just think that Batman(at least the way I see him)is a dark,brooding loner who stalks the night and sure,he's a hero,but at times he's so dark and mysterious that you can never tell for sure. Having a sidekick or partner at his side(whether it's Robin or someone else)just takes away a little of that darkness and makes him more willing to open up to others and such and makes him less of a menacing figure. Again,I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong,but I just don't like Batman to have any partner. I like him as the dark loner with alot of mental issues.

It's called character development. Batman can't always be this depressed loner. That's the reason for having Robin. He brings Batman out of that dark, depressed state. Keeps us from having to see that stupid a-hole Batman of the 90s.

Which is why I disagree with Spider-Freddie in saying he should be brought in right away. Batman hasn't yet reached that point where he needs to be saved from his own madness. But with a title like The Dark Knight, he's sure to turn that way soon.

Heh, it's funny how people complain and complain about comic movies being innacurate when it's changes they dont like. "He should have spandex like in the comics! He should have white eyes like in the comics! He wasn't trained by Ra's al Ghul in the comics!" But when it's a change they do like, regardless of size, they're absolutley fine with it. Getting rid of Robin is a bigger change to Batman than all of those combined. He's a constant in the Batman universe. He's been there through practically every interpretation of Batman, from his campy 50's self through his crazy, schitzo DKR self.

batman and robin are a double act. you can't have one without the other. when you think of batman you think of robin. he's in our heads. so why not just bring him in give him a third chance?

Because it's hard to fit him into the tone and approach of certain Batman stories ^ especially in a movie medium.

I really want to see him back....when the time is right.

After movie3 the Schumacher stuf will be ancient history and the more fantastic and fun comicbook stuff can come back in. Hello Robin, Poison Ivy, Bane, Man-Bat. But the rescue won't be complete until this trilogy is over so it needs to stay serious for now.

I know Robin is 'serious' for all of us but we've been reading the books for ages. Getting it across in a 2 hour movie for general audience is different.

And as you say, Batman + Robin are 'in our heads', but it's hard enough to re-establish Batman without Robin. It's crushing but they just need to spend some time apart for a while.
