Ok first of all I just read an interview of Chris Nolan stating this, "I make films that I think would be fun and interesting to watch and I just assume that there are other people like me out there."

I got extremely pissed off at that moment. I know many of you think that Chris Nolan is a god and that he's the best director ever but listen the only reason Batman Begins was successful is because it was an origin story, which we never seen a live interpretation of. Nolan did many things in the movie that I didn't agree with For instance: Batmobile chase, the fighting, the editing, the action and of course katie holmes. I hope Nolan hears batfans because I'm sure that most of you agree with me that the visual style for Batman Begins was boring and plain. He said he will change things up I'm starting to get worried I hope he makes the dark knight a sophisticaded summer blockbuster film, seriously it's the danm Batman, Batman is not a drama queen he's a freakin bad ass.

PLEASE NOLAN MAKE IT MORE COMICAL WITH REALISTIC ELEMENTS INSTEAD OF VICE VERSA. DARK, BRUTAL, EYE CANDY, AND OF COURSE BAD ASS WITH IMPACT!

No he should listen to people who actually make movies and comics for a living. Not fanboys who don't know $hit about the industry of making films.

Chill. The. Hell. Out.

If you didn't like what he did this time, give him a second chance. I trust in him.

david goyer is fanboy enough. they both make the perfect team. yea, take a chill pill homie

Spare me. If Nolan was to listen to fans like I've seen on this and other boards, the only thing familiar left about Batman's world, would be the names. The only people he should be listening to is Goyer and Robinson.

the guy sounds like a desperate guy who needs attention. It's a joke so people should even waste their time with this nerdy fellow.

We'll just have to wait until it comes out now, won't we?

i think everyone is right. Goyer and DC are the only people that he needs to be consulting with. i don't think he thinks "i'm a god" (like Alec Baldwin did in that one movie), but i digress. i think he KNOWS he's on the right track. and plus, if he listened to fans like me, the movies wouldn't be anything but scene after scene of Bale nudity, and a fight scene here and there.
that's right.
i said it.

The fans are a superstitious and cowardly lot that never agree on anything and often have absurd ideas. If any comicbook movie director ever "listened to his fans" while making a movie, he'll never get one made. If Nolan is already consulting with the guys at DC who helped create and nourish this great character and his universe, screw what the fans think.

Hmm. Y'know...you're right. So instead of replying to him, I'll reply to some random dude's sig.

* Superman doesn't have the time to be a father. Either he is a devoted father, or he is no father at all. And he can't be devoted to his son, because he is too busy being SUPERMAN!
I wouldn't quite say that. Firstly, in real life there are fathers in many lines of work that take them away from their children for very long periods of time - soilders being the most notable. And would you say they're not devoted parents simply because they are - quite admirably - giving large amounts of them time away another good cause? Of course not.

Secondly, and most importantly...you could apply that "he doesn't have time" logic to anything Clark Kent does. "He can't be a devoted husband and Superman!" But he is. "He can't be a successful investigative reporter and Superman!" But, again, he is. Is it unrealistic, a bit illogical? Maybe. But certainly no more so than a dude who can hide himself from the whole world by putting on a pair of glasses.

Please Nolan don't listen to any of the fans words.

That explains the one liners.

What would a comic book adaptation be without one liners?

I'm not that bothered about the action to be honest.

wow, my monocle fell into my champagne glass when I read that. are you serious? You do realise we're talking about an upcoming BATMAN movie right? If you want pure psychological drama go watch "Memento" which is obviously in another league entirely compared to begins on that front. jeez, fans really don't know what they want!

Sorry, I meant to say more action. I thought the amount of action in BB was just fine. I should really check my posts more...

when directors of comic book films listen and pander to comic book fans, you end up with bulls#!t like X3....shudder.

Two of the best Batman/Joker stories ever written (in my humble opinion) - Arkham Asylum and The Killing Joke barely have any action at all and are pretty much pure pschological drama.

Although I'm not advocating for little or no action (that would be absurd), I'm just pointing out why some fans wouldn't prioritize it the way others do.

Nolan's not listening to batfans, he's reading the things that matter: the comics. He understands them more than so-called 'fanboys' on this forum, myself included. Let the professional do his bloody job.

It's funny. People are going to be skeptical and suspicious of Nolan and The Dark Knight for a while. And rest assure, when the movie comes out those people will alter their attitudes with congratulatory comments like "It was the best movie ever!" and "Nolan rocks!".

I guarantee it.

Truth is thruth.

I think the hype should listen to us fans and stay away from this thread.

Its depressing to think that after the master peice Batman film that was begins..there is still one idiot who persists in trying to say the fans know best.

we dont.

It is impossible to please fans because everybody has different image of Batman or favourite things about him so Nolan can't listen all of us.
