The Dark Knight Nolan better listen to bat-Fans!

Exactly:batty:

Hmm. Y'know...you're right. So instead of replying to him, I'll reply to some random dude's sig.
I wouldn't quite say that. Firstly, in real life there are fathers in many lines of work that take them away from their children for very long periods of time - soilders being the most notable. And would you say they're not devoted parents simply because they are - quite admirably - giving large amounts of them time away another good cause? Of course not.

Secondly, and most importantly...you could apply that "he doesn't have time" logic to anything Clark Kent does. "He can't be a devoted husband and Superman!" But he is. "He can't be a successful investigative reporter and Superman!" But, again, he is. Is it unrealistic, a bit illogical? Maybe. But certainly no more so than a dude who can hide himself from the whole world by putting on a pair of glasses.

Well, that's just it. He has managed to live a life as a reporter, but BARELY. How is he supposed to be Superman - Father. Superman - Hero. Clark Kent - Reporter. Clark Kent - Daily life?

There are only so many things you can fit into your life before you're going to mess up and everyone will find your secret. Plus, even if Superman could visit Jason once in a while, what the hell is he going to do about Richard? Walk up to Jason and say: "You know Richard? The guy who is married to your mom? Yeah. He's not your real dad. I am. Come here, son."

NYUCK NYUCK! HAHA! :joker:

If Nolan listened to the fans we'd have Kevin Conroy as Batman with Mark Hamill as Joker. Then we'd have a seventeen hour movie with no coherent plot or script with Joker cutting people's faces open, recruiting Dawes as Harley Quinn and have Batman fighting Superman.........

Ok first of all I just read an interview of Chris Nolan stating this, "I make films that I think would be fun and interesting to watch and I just assume that there are other people like me out there."

I got extremely pissed off at that moment. I know many of you think that Chris Nolan is a god and that he's the best director ever but listen the only reason Batman Begins was successful is because it was an origin story, which we never seen a live interpretation of. Nolan did many things in the movie that I didn't agree with For instance: Batmobile chase, the fighting, the editing, the action and of course katie holmes. I hope Nolan hears batfans because I'm sure that most of you agree with me that the visual style for Batman Begins was boring and plain. He said he will change things up I'm starting to get worried I hope he makes the dark knight a sophisticaded summer blockbuster film, seriously it's the danm Batman, Batman is not a drama queen he's a freakin bad ass.

PLEASE NOLAN MAKE IT MORE COMICAL WITH REALISTIC ELEMENTS INSTEAD OF VICE VERSA. DARK, BRUTAL, EYE CANDY, AND OF COURSE BAD ASS WITH IMPACT!

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16328
I agree. The first was boring and dull. Could've been better.

I hope it looks better. And the Joker had better look like the Joker.

Well, I don´t agree with any of this, and if there´s something I learned from SHH boards is there´s more of a point in trying to get Israel to get along with Arabs than to please all fanboys. Nolan has pleased most fans, which is a monstrous task in itself, and the minority of disgruntled ones who´ll ***** and moan, endlessly for years, well, they´ll always exist, Nolan doesn´t need and won´t bother.

If you want a movie made by the fans, watch Snakes On A Plane. If you want a great film - watch a Nolan-made film.

And I say again, the idea of Superman being able to juggle all of those things is anymore ridiculous than him being able to hide behind a pair of glasses?

Oh, you're talking about the movie relationship specifically rather than just the principle of Superman having a child? Well, in that case, I don't see how his relationship with his son would be any different from any other father who's no longer with their child's mother. Not to mention, Superman's relationship with his own biological father is rather similar to the one he would have with Jason.

I can understand fans want to be heard but I don't want Nolan making the movie based off of what we want because I have seen plenty of stupid ideas on these boards that I don't want to happen. I don't think Nolan is the greatest director ever or a God or anything but I thought he did a good job with Batman Begins. True there were parts I didn't like but overall it was good. I trust that he'll do just as good a job with The Dark Knight.
Me too, sometimes the fanboys can come up with stuff that would make Schumacher himself cringe...

bah, good one liners are what movies are all about.
They make you laugh, feel connected to the production, serve as a metaphor for the character, and remind you how cool the character is.
Which is exactly what "nice coat" did unless you took the movie too seriously.
In which case, its just a movie...

I love well written one liners in movies as much as I love them in comics.
Im Batman.

Totally agreed.
The fact is that there are so many different depictions for Batman in comics, that in the end is the kind of mix that he or any other director do with all the reference material, the choices that he make, is what it counts.
In the end it is impossible to please everybody, not even Jesus did that.

Thats because Jesus didnt cast Christian Bale as Batman :D

There seem to be a lot of them in The Dark Knight section for some reason.

I know. That's why I only come here to look for news currently.

First of I just wanted to say is what's up with the name calling? There's no need to start name calling and it is not neccesary, if I rattled some heads in here then I apologize it was not intentional. We and I speak for everybody in here, we are the ones who decides if the next Batman film is a success or not ok we're Nolan's boss because it's the audience who determines if the movie will be a hit or not. Nolan is not a proffesional in my book I consider a proffesional someone who's been in the business and made numerous successful films such as: Martin Scorssese, Spike Lee, Quinton Tarintino, and Peter Jackson. Nolan is a rookie in my book he's made 3 mayor films and memento wasn't even that big, Insomnia sucked and Batman Begins rocks but it had many many mistakes. Nolan should at least listened to the majority of batfans, and I would of prefer david goyer's script over Nolan's remade script of Batman Begins because they did cut out alot of bad ass sequence in the final draft. So that comment that I saw about Nolan should listened to the advisors is irrevelant because jonathan and chris will re-write the script into a less theatrical screenplay.

Nolan is no god niether a proffesional that he my opinion but I do have one question to ask some of you, If Batman1989 would of introduced the Batman would of you liked it better than Batman Begins?

Quinton Tarintino,

Hasn't he only made about four films, and many would argue highly plagarised ones at that!

Of course Nolan is a professional!!!

I already like B89 better. :meow:

Nolan has now made 4, going on 5 films. All of which have been well recieved (Insomnia included). And Memento specifically was nominated for an academy award for writing. If you don't consider a director who's done all of that a professional, you really haven't a clue what a professional is.

Oh, and yeah, Tarantino has directed 5 films - the same number Nolan will have directed once The Prestige is released.

Lol your hilarious by crediting Nolan because memento was nominated for an academy award FOR WRITING, Last time I check it was Nolan and his Brother Jonathan who colloborated on the screen writing of memento. The same thing could be said about Batman Begins it was David Goyer and Nolan who colloborated on the film and I definetly liked Goyer's vision better than Nolan's vision. As for Quantin Tarantino he directed and wrote "Kill Billl vol.1" and just for the record it recieved 39 nominations and 12wins. Quantin wrote and directed it on his own he didn't need an extra hand. Trust me Quantin has a longer resume then Nolan, Quantin has written the script for "Jackie Brown", he wrote the screenplay for "From dusk till dawn" he did the story for "Natural Born Killers" as well as "True Romance" and "Pulp Fiction". He also collaborated on "Sin City" with robert rodriguez and frank miller.

Oh and by the way You don't have a clue on what a proffesional is.

Let's see if you can see the difference between Tarantino's work and Nolan's work:
