Mighty Max was pretty awesome and was actually pretty dark from what I remember.

Thank you, my good man. I knew I wasn't alone in this.

It was dark enough that, no matter the angle taken, a relatively faithful feature film adaptation would get a PG-13 rating without even trying. Skullmaster's creepy threats (bring Tim Curry back to do the voice!) and all the dragon-blood-drinking going around would help, too.

I didn't watch Mighty Max on tv, but my brother and I had some of the playsets. I think he had the snake set, and a tiny mummy set. I had the spider set and the mini-set with Dracula. Scary stuff...I think I cried and/or peed my pants the first time I played with it.

Is it only me, or were toys more fun and interesting during the 90s? What happened?

The elite kids programming from the 90's was on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Fox, and WB in my opinion. The only syndicated shows I have much appreciation for are from The Disney Afternoon. Well, Sonic SatAM but that's about it.

One of the episodes has him threatening to give Max a Glasgow grin with a jagged sword. Not in those words exactly, of course. It's meant for kids about as much as Harry Potter.

I'm referring to Biker Mice, Darkwing Duck, Swat Cats, Street Sharks. Any of that, because it's going to be the Michael Bays of the world directing them.

I want a movie--or even better, a Netflix or HBO series--based on Dark Horse Comics' one-eyed vigilante X (also known as the X-Killer). Anyone else remember him? Dark Horse recently relaunched the character in a new series, and in the letters to the editor section of one of the books, the editor actually mentioned something about possibly seeing X in a TV series. That would be so awesome.

If one thing defined the 90s to me (other than alternative rock... and by the way, I also want a movie about the early days of grunge) it was the "grim and gritty" superhero. And X was about as grim and gritty as you could get.
