NY Comic Con- Marvel Edition.

AAAARGH, where is the interview about THOR? They can't drop that preview art on me with nothing but that stupid blurb to accompany it! :cmad: :cmad: :cmad:

Olivier's redesigned Thor costume is... odd. I like the modern touches, with the shirt-tails hanging down rather than the classic outside undies, and I like the padded texture of the leggings, but I don't think covering Thor's arms is a good idea unless you're going for a full-on armored look. Seriously, Thor's got, like, 40-inch guns. Show those bad boys off.

Also, the wings on his helmet are too small. They don't look like big, imposing eagle wings; they look like someone strapped chicken wings onto his head.

Also x 2: monochrome much? Seriously, a little more than gray and black would be nice. It makes the cape look like a ridiculous explosion of color on his back.

You know, the design isn't that much of a change. All it really did was add in some chainmail looking thingy and a new belt

I'm not liking that Thor costume redesign. The grey is really off-putting to me.Leave it alone!

Talking about a variety of heroes around the U.S. in the Marvel Universe, Slott announced that he and Fabian Nicieza will be co-writing a new GLA one-shot, "Although they will be changing their name again, this time to ‘GLI: Great Lakes Initiative’."
Slott said that Deadpool will deal with the Initiative in the Great Lakes Initiative special, which he then renamed on the fly “The Great Lakes Initiative/Deadpool Summer Fun Spectacular”.
Sold.:yay:

It's not so much the gray as it is the sheer drabness of the costume to me. Coipel had some nice tweaks--the new helmet (aside from the wings) is a dramatic improvement on his old one while still being recognizable, the new belt and its more Norse-inspired buckle is a great addition, the shirt-tails are a vast improvement over the undies--but, really, he couldn't find anywhere to squeeze some color in? He could've at least kept the red on Thor's wristbands to complement the cape. As it is, the bright, vibrant cape looks really out of place with the drab, monochrome costume.

I can't quantify how little I care about World War Hulk.

Haha, how come? It actually looks like it might be satisfying despite its gimmicky event nature. The idea of the Hulk kicking the ass of all the heroes who've been utter *****es lately doesn't appeal to you at all?

I hope Quesada realizes that mastermind Excello and Amadeus Cho are the same person.

Thor looks kick ass, the costume isn't the best, but it still looks great.

I think it's just because how little I care about the Hulk. I tried Planet Hulk (which I was told was the best thing ever to happen to the character) and I couldn't care for it. So same thing for this really. Though you did get me I wouldn't mind seeing Iron Man and Reed get punched in the face.

Thor does look great IMO, I've read next to none of the character (bar the Avengers books I have) and look forward to the new series.

Only good can come from more Annihilation.
