It's not released on DVD/Blu-ray in the UK until October 4.

I hope there is more on there than has been spoiled on here. There will at least be commentaries, which you never get with digital versions.

There should really be an Extended Edition and even one with an action figure attached or something like that, to give it added appeal. Fox and Marvel need to get heads together and sort out the merchandising aspect. Everyone benefits in the long run.

Has it been confirmed that Ireland and UK get an October 4th release? There's still nothing up on Amazon.

That's what it said at the time of pre-ordering. I see the date is not given now, but it was there before.

Just did a Google search and i see a few movie/video sites saying the date is October 4 as well.

The book edition has now been put back to January 5-7, according to Amazon email notifications.

I have ordered Bluray with booklet version from Amazon UK, it seems they changed it to the same one as the Target version. And I have received an email saying it will be dispatched in January.

If you purchase the digital version from itunes, it is with commentaries.

Anyone else able to purchase it on Friday? Can't wait! I think my country is the first it release it on blu ray...

There's a free download code supplied with the physical Blu-ray so I'll be getting my digital version that way, so i can load it on my iPhone.

Was there commentary with the digital versions? i assume so, i dunno if the dvd will have anything new

hopefully the dvd will have digital code like rogue cut of DOFP and Deadpool had so i can get it in HQ from itunes.

I've never downloaded digital version using code coming with DVD so I am not sure if the extra is included. But when you purchase digital version on iTunes, it is with extra so the commentary is included.

My DVD got lost in transit. Getting a new one tomorrow instead. Fail. :p

Well, I gave it an 8, so clearly I don't hate it. But there are frustrating moments and the focus/emphasis and pacing seems a bit off.

Did that score go up in subsequent viewings? I remember you didn't like it your first viewing.

Glad you liked it!

I disagree.

They should have left many more scenes.

Storm/Xavier conversation is one of them but they should left the Mall Scene, Moira arresting Stryke, Xavier telling Mystique that he needs her, and mentioning the Storm, Scott and Jean name cause it was clearly a reference to DOFP when Logan tells him to pay attention to those names. Magneto saying to Mystique that it's over. The complete fight between Beast and Mystique. Jean and Scott meeting extended. So many good things they kept out. Scott and Havok having more screen time together like brothers. Jesus, the editing for this movie was terrible, I'm thinking that the editing ruined the movie.

With this film, blame the writing before blaming the editing. You can only polish a turd so much :oldrazz:

We now see what happens when Simon is left to his own devices without the help of others: (1) goldman/vaughn (and I'm not their biggest fans...FC...). (2) I wish the X2 writers did more than just script outline for this film.

I hope the poor reception of Apocalypse (a movie which I actually enjoyed!) gets them to rethink continuing on with having Kinberg on solo script duties. They have to get a better writer, one who can write actual, normal dialogue. Not dialogue which makes some of the cast snicker (I'm looking at you McAvoy) when they reminisce about reciting those lines on set during filming. Not a script and/or dialogue that the director/editor/cast have to muck around with so much during filming on the spot.

I am not kinberg's biggest fan but too many want to give vaughn and goldman more credit for DOFP than they deserve.they were more like
the involvement of singer and X2 writers.to me the real difference may be
Singer was distracted during writing fighting the allegations against him that
Kinberg was left to his deivces during writing. If it hadn't been for Singer's ability as director we wouldn't have anyone saying they liked film.

unlike many i say SInger wasn't wrong to delete the mall sequenze.if anything the Xavier/storm conversation and cyclops/beast and xavier/mystique at end if what i would have advise them to put back.

part of problem is Kinberg is really the closest thing to overseer the films.

Even though I like film i also feel case can be made Singer was trying to do film he thought others wanted and went outside his comfort zone and strengths.Apocalypse was never going to outgross DOFP but when lovers of
X-Men,X2,and DOFP are critzing Apocalypse you know mistakes were made.

I agree films could use a new writer but with Kinberg involved so much in all the films as producer that is unlikely to happen.

^ Good points.

Maybe with Oscar-Nominated ProducerTM (yah...that happened) Simon Kinberg busy with his producing duties with his other films, we are rewarded with a better writer? One can only hope!

thanks.

Strange things do happen.Akiva Goldsmith who wrote perhapes the worst comic book film ever-Batman & Robin later won an oscar for writing a beautiful mind.

success of DOFP,The martian, and deadpool all tell you why fox keeps Kinberg
around.

I wonder why they held the film's Blu Ray Junket in Ontario instead of Montreal (where the actual film and DOFP were filmed) or Victoria/Vancouver (where X2 and TLS were filmed). It's explained that the first X-men was filmed in Ontario but still...what a weird decision :loco:

It deserves an 8 at most. There are too many flaws for a higher score. And possibly I could lower that to a 6 or 7 if I hadn't generally enjoyed it overall and found some great moments in there.

When I first saw it, at a packed media screening with an enthusiastic audience, I could see flaws despite the positive atmosphere of the screening.
The pacing/structure, Apocalypse design, many underdeveloped characters, too much 'been there done that' and of course the Raven/J-Law thing.

The editing does deserve some discussion. I wonder what the aim of that editing was stated to be? To bring it down to a specific runtime? To focus only on the main characters?

I raise this because I feel some of the excised material would have helped the movie by giving more depth to characters such as Storm, who had a significant role in becoming one of the horsemen and then turning against him.

What happened wth Jubilee being virtually removed from the movie was shocking but at least she wasn't part of the main plot in any way.

As for the writing, it could have done with another eye or hand on it in places, yes. Singer doesn't seem to have been as engaged with the script and dialogue as usual, perhaps he really was preoccupied with those allegations.

Thats just silly and likely wasn't the case, i am sure singer wasn't crying ever night over these allegations while kinberg wrote the script, singer was likely all on board all the way

unlike many i say SInger wasn't wrong to delete the mall sequenze.

See that depends whether the reason you felt it wasn't wrong to delete it is the same reason singer did delete it or not.

Not sure it works that way
