Thoughts on how muvh screentime for the dusted heroes? I liked the Guardians in IW but I dont want them in too much of it when theyre Snapped back.

Pretty sure. Dr Strange 2 and Eternals both have directors attached. I can’t remember for Shang-Chi. But Black Panther 2 is much further out than any of those three.

Shang-Chi has a writer on board and they're seeking a director. We'll probably hear more after Endgame and FFH come out. Disney is having its D23 Expo this year and one would expect Marvel to make any announcements there rather than at ComicCon.

(And by the end of August, Kevin Feige should have some info to share about the returning Fox-Marvel heroes. The deal will be done by then, I'm sure. ;))

He's saying the one in the screenshot from the trailer is the CB suit, NOT the Quantum Realm one, which is pretty clear from the brightened image. It's blue, and it's got the little buttons along the torso and everything.

My mistake, then.

It looked quite like the Quantum Realm suit to me.

3 hours movie with Russo B is very good for us, nothing to be rushed
This will just be a little bit worse since the movie theatres will cut 1 Endgame movie playing everyday that means will not have the same weekend box office

I've been wondering about this... so many popular characters got dusted (Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch) and I can't imagine they'll leave it til the end to bring them back. I think it'll be a film of two halves... the first half will be dedicated to bringing everyone back and the second half will be defeating Thanos and making sure the snap doesn't happen again.

However as with IW, when you have THAT many characters, it's a struggle to make sure everyone gets enough screentime.

I definitely think they'll save all the snap victims for the last act. And I hope they do as well. Let's get a more focused movie on the characters we might not have as much anymore.

Yeah marvel so far hasnt overstayed its welcome at the box office but realistcally how long can marvel keep it up with the different phases and different characters? Its gonna be hard to get actors who sold it like downey has.
They're getting right back to so many major characters now that another decade for sure, and hopefully a lot longer. Other franchises in the past have kept things too samey as they've progressed as well as losing quality. The MCU is maintaining quality 20 plus films later, while also introducing totally new films and characters to keep things fresh.

We also have people that keep following TV shows that have 10-24 hours of content each year. I think Marvel is fine with their 6-8 hours of films. As long as there is quality and variation things will keep going.
True. And some of those shows go on a hell of a long time with similar content.

Yes, good point.

'Avengers: Endgame' Runtime Still At 3 Hours; Russo Brothers Talk Test Screenings

Film still @ 3 hours. Woo hoo! Even with test screenings. Although, still being worked on..

Smart thinking on the part of the Russos. Even by Disney-esque standards, the aftermath of universal genocide is no laughing matter. Likewise, the extra time should better allow for meeting the requirements a film of this scope and scale demands.

I'm here for that, and then some!

If it's still 3-hours this late in the game and they're test-screening it, then that means IF anything gets cut now, it will be an entire subplot. Because everything else is trimmed as far down as it should feasibly go. And I don't want to lose a whole subplot, so I hope it keeps its length for that reason as well.
Yes, this is getting seriously late now for major alterations. And again, as long as the testing isn’t going really badly, there’s little point cutting. If it was 3hr 20 or 30 mins it would be more understandable.

I'd still sit there and watch it if it was five hours, though there'd likely need to be a break at some point. I don't think I'd be able to hold my bladder for a whole five hours.

If this is 3hrs, I do hope they insert an intermission. I have a weak bladder, and though I made it through several long movies without going to the restroom and I rarely use the restroom the first time I see a movie, I'd rather not have the end of the movie tainted for me by thinking to myself "Wrap up so I can go to the bathroom!!!"An intermission would be nice, LOL

Nappies are the best solution I think.:cwink:

Impossible in the muti plex era for simple crowd control reasons even with assigned seats. But more importantly because it is all about money, adding an intermission means that screen turn around time is even longer and less screenings can be scheduled and its all about money in the land of milk and honey to paraphrase Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five

This movie is going to have a record breaking amount of screens regardless if they add an intermission or not. Whether a seat is assigned or not also doesn't matter. They have had intermissions with movies in places that had assigned seating long before we ever did. I think we'd manage.

Those were single screen theatres in that era that movies had intermissions, the crowd control was much easier back then. Record breaking or not you get more by turning that screen around an extra two times a day.

It's going to be fine regardless. It's going to smash records at the BO and clean up. If they really wanted to maximize the amount of screenings, then the movie would be under 3 hours. I know it has been ages since a movie was released with an intermission, but you also have to remember this is a movie with a high volume of children who will see it. Movies of this type are rarely allowed to be that long for this reason. But if they're allowing it to be that long, it's something to consider.
