That’s weird. Winter Soldier was probably my favorite mcu movie besides any of the Avenger ones. That being said Thor Ragnarock holds a special place in My heart lol cause damn I couldn’t stop laughing from start to finish .

The first time I watched Ragnarok, I couldn't stop laughing when Thor goes "Blegh!" when recounting Loki's snake story. I still can't.

how popular is the excitement for the film there?

I'd say tickets sold faster than for IW. Most of my friends are super psyched. My nerd co-worker isn't watching it though, she is 8 months pregnant and if Hemsworth is shirtless at any point during this she would just give birth right there and then

I've been rewatching the MCU movies starting with Iron Man, next up is Guardians of the galaxy vol. 2(I started a bit earlier, wanted some breaks between the movies, plus I was really eager to revisit some of the older films). Needless to say, my opinions on some of the movies have drastically changed. Some are worse and some are a lot better than what I remembered, but even the worst one (Thor: The Dark World) is not THAT bad, it's still watchable. Just goes to show how successful the MCU franchise really is.

Every single time I spot Rocket, I smile like an idiot realizing that we have come to a point where the general audience "gets" comic books' lore and trappings.
It speaks to the stellar quality of work put in by everyone at Marvel Studios (and in Marvel comics in the decades past).
I still can't believe he beat Wonder Woman to the big screen.

Lol it says something when the fanbase accepts fictional creatures over females in their media.

oh God :lmao:
What am I supposed to be mad at!?

It wasn't the fanbase that kept women from starring in cbms. It was studio executives, who claimed that the audience wasn't ready for female (or minority) lead films.

Ike Perlmutter kept Marvel from making Black Panther and Captain Marvel for years by peddling that bs. WB had Catwoman years ago but dragged its feet on Wonder Woman because the former flopped. Fans embraced these heroes when their films finally came out, to the tune of billions of dollars. So we are not to blame for studio foot-dragging.

Well, except for Thor 2. That film needed about 30 minutes of character development and plot added to it. Avenger's Age of Ultron to a lesser degree has always felt to me like it's got pieces missing. Like a bunch of seconds here and there in scenes was trimmed out and it left the film and its pace feeling wrong. Ultron and his development and evolution throughout the film definitely feels undercooked and in need of added runtime.
We never saw the Terminator version of Ultron and that still pisses me off. Full disclosure; I think the Avengers get better as they go along, but that doesn't mean I ignore the flaws.

I had no confidence that they could make a talking raccoon work in this universe but they sure showed me lol.

I like how Marvel went from showing a guy building a working mech suit in a cave while making it relatively believable, to a sentient talking tree and raccoon in the span of 5 years or so. As I always say, it took the DCEU until the END of Man of Steel to even SAY the name "Superman", and then, in Civil War, you have Ant-Man running up Captain America's shield which is being held by Spider-man while they are in an airport in Germany. One of those universes crashed and burned, and the other one is the MCU.

(not hating on DC, but the heavily shared universe just doesn't work for them)

I can't remember who said it, I want to say Billy from Double Toasted made a comment like "I should be laughing at a CGI raccoon walking in line with a bunch of humans, but here I am accepting it. "

that's a funny image. where you watching it at? I caught MI: Fallout last summer with my gf in Gdansk. She was so bored haha. I hadn't known you could watch foreign films with subs in Poland; since she had told me all about the Lektor.

I did that last year. IM3 is one of my faves. Not a perfect film by any means but really shot to the top. I have to disagree with you, though, I still think T:TDW is one of the weaker ones.

Weak/mediocre MCU:
IRON MAN 2
THOR: THE DARK WORLD
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
