He's probably just doing the "actor" thing and doing his prep work before getting to work, much the same way a stage actor might take time before a performance by walking the stage, putting himself in the zone. It's a preparation thing

Bale was simply giving me 30 second poses before Nolan brought in his entire crew. I filled up my sketchpad!

yeah i talked to them, trying to find out how they got the job...al i got back was..."yeah you need connection" at least i got the phone number of one the pa's .

so yeah gordon levitt sneaks up behind bane's mercenary trucks, runs up a plattform to save i think he's partner...seconds after he lifts him, his partner gets shot, and out of nowhere 7-8 mercenaries pop up surrounding john blake...in that moment the boss of bane's mercenaries pops up and pushes levitt down, and what seemed to be a bridge, after that that boss jumps after levitt. they also did some special effects involving a bomb explosion.

oh and i walked on set at some point, where there was no one, saw the tunnel with the erupted earth and that base camp of bane with platform, it was quite amazing how they transformed that street.

Got a good shot of the tunnel where they put the blown up wall and the fake snow at the bottom of it. The other day I believe we were told it was a pedestrian tunnel or something by one of the PAs.
