But see, X2 was already sitting right there without the camp of SM2 (or the cliched damsel in distress rehash of the first movie). But people ignored it because it's Spider-Man and they wanted to believe it was the "ZOMG best thing ever." X2 is underrated in that sense. It's less flawed than Nolan's Batflicks or something like SM2.
I haven't been a fan of any of the X-Men movies. I hope that they can actually do one that looks great, and not have so much wire-fights.

I haven't seen First Class, though. I heard that was good.....

What's the story with the field? Did they actually raise part of it or is it one of those street 3d things ala optical illusion?

it was raised...the raised section is intended to be all that is left [BLACKOUT]after the explosions go off[/BLACKOUT]

edit- it was a platform, I misunderstood what you asked at first...I think you were asking if it was like mechanically moved during shooting, which it wasn't.

Yeah there was a platform built but it was definitely an optical illusion. Bane walks out on the only remaining part of the field, everything else is supposed to fall away, but instead it was raised up. Movie magic at it's best

Yeah! That guy is awesome! Very few people can rock a cowboy hat and do it justice...but he sure can!

So true, it makes me laugh seeing him and Nolan interact because they dress and act sooooooo differently

It was damn good. Not quite as good as X2, but still really damn good. As far as origin movies go, I'd put it on the same level as IM1 and Superman. BB has a slight edge over all of them.

The wicker cowboy hat, grayish T and jorts? Yeah that was him

Yeah...Wally and MJK rock the cowboy look pretty good.

I love X2, right now it's probably my favourite Marvel film, but obviously at the time it was all about Spidey, spidey-mania if you will. I felt (and i still do) that spider-man 2 was a much deeper and layered film than X2. It's camp really takes away from it, and the fact that it should legally be called Peter Parker the movie, but anyway. I think the main reason why I don't look too kindly on the raimi film's is the failure of the third. Just the proverbial fly in the great tasting soup.

Which is why i think it is so essential for TDKR to be on the level of TDK, although I'd think it would take a disaster of Shumacher sized proportions to make me dislike TDK. :woot:

Don't know if anyone has posted these yet but I found them online. No new real spoilers that I spotted:

I'm in one of those photos!

I'm near the bottom left. The Caped Crusader is the dude above the guy in the glasses near the woman in the yellow jacket. I am right beside him sitting next to The Guard.

As great as Si Ian is, I wish we hadn't gotten a Magneto so darn old. He comes off positively ancient next to Professor X and they are supposed ti be of the same age. I know they wanted the whole concentration camp survivor thing, but that bothers me. As do the uninspired uniforms. The best thing about the X-Men films is the thing people now complain a out, they focus on Wolverine. They are his movies. The rest is "meh." I would also say that Marvels movies(Avengers-verse) have at approximately the same camp as the first two Sliest flicks.which I think are still great films. Can't speak for 3, but I still feel certain things were handled really well there. Raining definitely liked the black suit and the issues it brought with it, and for his Peter Parker the guy is kind of corny so you get the strut and all that. He just obviously didn't want to use Venom and he was tacked on.

Back to Batman?

I think he and Patrick Stewart are around the same age in RL.

X2 is loaded with social commentary, which instantly makes it a deeper movie than SM2 IMHO.

The day and age...or the technology at hand is irrelevant. "People" choose to snap that picture with their cell phone. "People" choose to immediately upload these photos. Just because the technology is readily available has nothing to do with the lack of respect.
It wasn't our ninjas getting the most spoilery pics, it was the professional paparazzi with their long telephoto lenses. If we had to go by grainy cell phone pics, we wouldn't be able to tell who anyone was.

Haha, I'm pretty sure Wally had a really low cut v-neck shirt on too. :hehe:

Very true.

The paparazzi have been getting the best pictures, and I'm sure they'll continue to as long as the production is in Pittsburgh, I sadly dont have a camera lens three feet long :o

I know this is the Burgh' thread but can anyone tell me about the LA casting?

Have they told the people auditioning where they are filming?

And you'd be able to see to see those lenses from across the street for sure. :oldrazz:

Professional paparazzi at the CMU shoot.

No hiding from that lens.

Not sure, theyre actually shooting "on location" in LA though? I assumed they'd just be doing soundstage stuff like the Batcave?

I'm not sure if they are, just wondered.

The reason I was asking is because of the amount of pics and vids we've had from this shoot.

If it's soundstage stuff next, then I guess we're s**t out of luck!
