So now Bishop kills
future Cannonball
. At this rate, he will be killing a million people in his quest to kill this baby

Who says they were sent to the future to get him? More likely, he came back to the present for something and that's when they snagged him.

yes..except Cyclops does something drastic...what would be more drastic than sending x-force into the future to take out the renegade mutant Bishop?

KING-SIZE CABLE SPECTACULAR #1
Written by Duane Swierczynski
Pencils by KEN LASHLEY
If you’ve missed Cable so far, this giant-sized, self-contained one-shot is the perfect chance to hop into the timestream and catch up with the story that blasted right out of the pages of “Messiah CompleX” !
If you think it’s tough being Cable, hopping through time with a bawling kid strapped to your chest, try stepping into Bishop’s shoes for a while. Yeah, you’re a tough, smart cop, and you’re no stranger to tracking time-traveling perps, but Cable is a new kind of quarry. Not only is he an X-Man who’s very familiar with the future, he’s also a highly-trained soldier who knows how to cover his tracks and leave dozens of down-and-dirty traps in his wake. For you, the stakes have never been higher. Every second that baby is alive means you’re one second closer to your greatest nightmare. One you swore you’d prevent…

The description worries me. "Come on this guy is insane!". Talk about underestimating the character. Couldn't the have thought of something better to say? i mean, this is the perfect oportunity to get more people interested in the character and I doubt "Come on this guy is insane!" will be that appealing for them.

It'd get me interested if I wasn't already lol

What a way to get a new DP ongoing...with Skrulls and Way. It saddens me.

Cable #5
32 full color pages
Written by: Duane Swierczynski
Art by: Ariel Olivetti
Release Date: July 2, 2008
Price: $2.99

The war that started in "Messiah CompleX" continues here! Hang on to your Bjorn-straps, people: Here it is, the can't-miss conclusion to "War Baby"!

Both Cable and Bishop have crossed lines they thought they'd never cross. There's no going back now. And in the disaster-ravaged streets of a near-future Manhattan, it all comes down to which X-Man wants to accomplish his objective more.

The gloves are off…the guns are loaded…and nobody's going to walk out of this one unscathed… including the baby!

LMAO at the baby's armor

Love the Silvestri cover

"Like it or not, Deadpool may be the only person on the planet who can save us…but who’s to say he wants to?"

I'm fairly certain we left off with Deadpool enjoying being a good guy and actually wanting to try to continue doing so..Correct?

Sort of. Many think he just wanted to be included which is why the Cableless Cable and Deadpool issues are bookended by the same two scenes except the last one includes Weasel, Cables old reporter buddy, and Agency X as his buddies. He definitely has grown from the insane wacko he was introduced as, and definitely leans toward the heroic. Although i think hes still an oppurtunist mercenary, as in I think he has a price for everything.

Hey, he'd kill babies for a good enough price. He won't like it, but he'll do it :o
Loved that interview he had with Irene. One of the many highlights of the series, imo.

Saw some samples of the interior art for the Deadpool book and I am so glad that Dillion isn't doing it as was rumored. The art looks like the good stuff we are used to from the previous Deadpool books. I can't wait for it! :D

The only reason i've been following Cable, is just to see how things play out with this baby. We all know she is going to wind up turning into female Cable-Lite. The only major questions after that, are...

1)What will her powers be
2)Will she wind up wiping out 1 million humans, like in Cables time line?

Now once we step away from that...I think that the other elements to this story are kind of...lost? I always thought Bishop was supposed to be mutant enforcer from the future. In said future, he policed other mutants and sent them to detention camps. Now it is showing that he did grow up in a detention camp. And from the looks of how things went with Dupe-Madrox and Layla, I can't imagine that he grew up to be a cop in the same timeline that originally introduced Bishop. I also don't like the idea of Bishop flipping out and pursuing Cable while slaughtering anyone in his path. Bishop went from calculated, tactful and pensive, to just outright bat **** crazy. It seems uncharacteristic to just turn him into a hardcore murderer.

He was more forgiving of Gambit back when he thought he was the betrayer of the X-Men (until the silly Onslaught retcon).
But some how he is on a murder spree to kill this baby? Doesn't add up. I would have rather seen them resurrect Fitzroy and have him get contracted by Sinister, chasing Bishop through time. Hell, resurrect Apocalypse so he could try to turn the baby into a horseman. But insane Bishop...just bothers me. He is almost like an insane Cable. Especially with a metal arm. It's like the only thing separating them as characters, is their powers. Because they are both mutants from the future, who are soldiers with cybernetic arms. I don't think we need another insane anti-Cable. We had one of those already. His name was Stryfe.

I've been extremely pissed at how they've written Bishop since the CompleX, but I think I can break down his irrational behavior to this:

Imagine if one of the Jews held in a Nazi concentration camp during his childhood ended up stuck in the year 1885. All would be going well for him, until April 1889 rolled around, when Hitler was born. Would he let the future be, or try to find a way to prevent the suffering of his people? And if he choses to stop it, how far would he go?

Bishop has apparently taken it so far, he's killing his own friends and allies.

On the other hand, Cable really needs to explain why the Messiah girl is so important. She's responsible for the suffering in Bishop's time by killing millions of people, but why the hell is she so important in the long run?

I can understand the position that Bishop holds. I can even understand his motivation. But I feel like they pulled a Superboy Prime here. Here was a pretty good character who is lost outside of his own world, some what isolating him even though he has companions. He then goes from a decent guy to jerk off in 0.2 seconds flat. Bishop shouldn't have just started lying, take out the X-Mansion slaughter or nearly slaughter tons of people (Cannonball, Forge, Cable, Militia etc). The way I see things, Bishop would have explained himself. Had his mind read by Emma to confirm veracity.

Upon seeing the two sides...I imagine Cyclops...being Cyclops, would say that if they can get the baby, they can raise her to make sure that she doesn't flip out. That refusal to kill the baby would then lead Bishop to take matters into his own hands. But having him become this secretive murderer is just terrible. Marvel has been screwing their characters and audience en masse lately. Tony Stark becomes a jerk, Spider-Man becomes a whipping post and an idiot and Bishop becomes a murderer on a scale near Mr. Sinister. Sloppy...sloppy writing.
