I just noticed I voted Bi-Beast in thread 3, even though I wanted to vote Wildside (which makes sense considering my debate=win policy and the comment to it doesn't make sense otherwise). Can I edit, or does it stand? I don't fear Wildside losing, but meh...

Nope, it stays. If you had noticed and edited it right after you did it then it would have been fine, but some time passed so it stays.

I wouldn't worry about it, Harlekin. Obviously, Bi-Beast doesn't stand a chance of winning. But, I guess it begs the question, if it's obvious you made a mistake with the vote, as your response shows, can you change your mistake? I'm thinking if it's neck and neck, and it's obvious it's a mistake, I'd hate to have a mistake win someone the contest. (But, if there is no indication that a mistake was made, then I can see you shouldn't get to change.) I know we have a few minutes to fix a mistake.


Anyway, so, I'm looking at how screwed I'm at in Bracket 1. I have a lot of my favorite characters in this bracket, and as the luck of the draw goes, that damn Adam Warlock is right there, in the thick of things. Adam faces my Jack of Hearts in Round 3, and then if he beats my Jack, he'll possibly face my Iron Man (whose facing Helix in Round 3).

Now, it's almost a guarantee that Tana Nile will get through to Round 3, and she faces either Ares or Kid Omega. I'm guaranteed a character making it into Round 5; but, I'm also guaranteed to lose two good characters. So, I'm trying to decide who I want to face the possible winner that could get into Round 5 against my character. Four excellent characters are facing off: Psylocke vs. Professor X and Spider-Man vs. Juggernaut. DANG! I just don't know who to go for.

No matter what, I have to also think that down the road, if I survive the winner of those four, I'll probably have to possibly face Adam Warlock again. Screw Adam Warlock!!!!

No, Prime and Darth are still around. JH contacted both of them, and they both just have had busy schedules or been sick. (Plus, I don't think Prime realized he had Bi-Beast in a match this week.) Both said they are still in the contest.

On a side note, I promise before I leave for vacation, I'm going to get the prizes out. I'm having problems finding JH's last two books; but, I think I'll send him what I have, and when I find the two Thanos books, I'll send them to him seperately. I've got the boxes set and comics picked out. I just have to do the address and bring them to the post office.

Well @#$%, according to this post by Pheadrus, I didn't have any matches this week, so I completely missed it. Sorry guys, I am just now reading through the matches so I can vote, I haven't had time to look at them earlier this week, I would have seen that!

It was kind of weird that I didn't seem to have any matches for two straight weeks, I gotta pay more attention!

My trip to Kuwait

I just thought I would share with you my trip there. First off, I should caveat everything by saying that we were treated like VIPs and we did arrive in a private jet.


Airport: Amazing service with very polite people. We were in a private lounge and got served tea while we waited for our visas to get stamped on our passports.

People: Very hospitable with very good language skills. the funny thing is the population is comprised of about 1 million Kuwaitis and 2.5 million foreigners. the Kuwaitis are the 'masters'.

City: The place is one very large coastal city. The rest is pretty much desert. The city itself looked a bit like LA (closest comparison I could come up with) with very large avenues and quite allot of malls, high rise towers, large villas and such. The place smelled of money. The majority of cars were all high end. Prices there were more expensive then in Europe and in the States.

Anyways, one general note was on how Americanised it was. There was a Starbucks and McD every 100 meters. There were also quite a few American type malls.

Tax System & Wages: Apparently, the average wage in Kuwait is $3k (this is average including cab drivers and such) a month and they pay no taxes and only 5% social security. Pretty much all their health and school expenses are coverred.

Anyways, it was an amazing place and the oil revenues have allowed allot of money to permeate that society.
