Official Contest of Marvels II Discussion Thread

Well, it's getting good ratings from viewers and critics. Sounds like it's going to be a classic summer action blockbuster.

And really, what more do you need? :D

Voting is suppose to end tomorrow. I PMed the five other people who voted last time to remind them to try and get their votes in.

BTW, Transformers was awesome! My son is a humongous Spidey fan, and he's always said Spidey 3 has been the best movie of the summer. (He's very biased, and even though it clearly wasn't, that wasn't going to change his mind.) Well, Transformers blew him away, and it's now his favorite. It's definitely a boy flick. The concept of Transformers is so silly that I cannot see a better film being made. It definitely exceeded by expectations. Lots of action, lots of humor. We had a great time. (I was surprised the movie wasn't a sell out...figure a lot of people didn't realize they were having an early showing or something.)

Got mine in.....

I miss this competition.....it was hard for me to step away from everything.....but things in the past year has made things difficult.....I hope some year I can come back...

You know you'd be welcome. With everything coming to an end soon, I realize I'm going to miss it. Don't know how long we'll be away, as I want to try out the DTL; but, I love having us decide these match-ups and having the contestants move on.

Anyway, I hope all of you have an excellent 4th of July, if you happen to live in the US. I still have to purchase my fireworks for the kids. It's so damn expensive, and it all ends so quickly.

couple of years ago some friends and I strapped a load of rockets to a shopping trolly, pointed it down a straight road and lit the fuse. This thing must have hit 25 miles an hour before it flipped over and took out a hedge. Fireworks require creativity to get the best out of them (and sometimes the sacrifice of 1 or more limbs kids :))

I've just never much gotten into the 4th of July. I used to go watch fireworks, but I got bored of that around 13 or 14. Then I tried the light your own fireworks thing, and I just found it boring and not worth the money.

Tomorrow I work until around 5:00, then coming home. My older brother is in from Florida for the first time in 3 years (and we're getting the kids to powder him up trying to get him to stay) and I'm having two friends over. My mom's going to cook out and we're just gonna sit around, eat, then go to bed at the late hour of 10:30 and get to work again the next day. We might go see some fireworks for the girls, but we haven't really discussed it yet.

For some reason, the 4th of July has always been a day of bad luck for me. Last couple years the doom finally seemed to have stopped. But, some of the worst days of my life have been on the 4th. The day my marriage took it's downward spiral started on that day. I remember the day before being so happy, buying fireworks and expecting a great day the following day; by the time my daughter's birthday came 4 days later, my marriage was forever ruined. But, out of that despair came happiness I might never have known before. I can truly say I'm happier now than I've ever been. Sure, I've had happier days, like my wedding day, the birth of my children and such. This is an overall happiness, where all stress and worry is pretty much gone from my life. I'm at total peace, truly, for the first time in my life.

But, egads...those 4th of July's past....I pray that curse is gone.

Have a good day lads. My 4th of July will be marked with the loss of Graviton. :(

I admit I enjoyed it a lot as well. The one thing that I thought was funny was how Bumblee seemed to have ripped off of the Thundercats by shining the Autobot signal in the sky. I was half hoping he would say "Autobots, Autobots, Autobots, HOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

So...when does voting end and the new battles start. It is not like there is any suspense.

Since I had yesterday off from work, voting will end right now and I'll have the new matches up soon.

Oh man, we're finally at the bracket championships. I can't believe the season's almost over.

LOCATION: PROVIDENCE (Not Populated)

Providence is a fictional island featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Providence, located somewhere in the of the South Pacific Ocean, is an artificial island comprised of parts from Cable’s old space station Greymalkin.

Since Providence is built out of a space station from the future, it has an abundance of advanced technology. Most of this technology Cable allows to be freely given out to the world.
  • Teleportation Matrix – Providence is equipped with a teleportation matrix that responds to the verbal commands of both Cable and Deadpool. It allows them to be teleported anywhere on Earth, and was once modified to teleport between dimensions as well.
  • Skimmer Jets – Self-subsisting, solar-powered vehicles used by Cable when he no longer had the ability to fly of his own accord.
  • Fission Waste Processor – Used for processing waste, and presumably an energy supply, this device was shared with Tony Stark.

Just letting you guys know I probably won't get any debates posted today. Got the daughter at work, and she makes it hard to concentrate on what I'm writing.

YAHOO!!!! Big Brother starts tonight!!!! Now, the summer has officially started.

I'll work up debates either tonight or tomorrow. Had a bit of a really ****ty stream of bad luck. First I decide not to go to work (hey, that's my choice, but I still lose 10 bucks because of it), proceed to lose 10 bucks at poker (again, my own choice, if you can't stand to lose, don't play), and then, as a coup de grace, the busses were on strike, so I had to take a taxi, which cost me another tenner.

Now you're thinking: "Pff, what's thirty bucks?" Well, for a student who's been paying off 150 bucks a month for the last eight months for the upcoming vacation and with little money else to spare, 30 bucks is a big deal.

You play poker online?

Anyways, I am not going to see anything until Sunday night guys as I am taking my GF to Paris this weekend and I am not taking my computer with me.

Big Brother is the show! I still can't believe the guy admits to having Gonnohrea on the first show in front of everyone. This year looks good already.
