While in the comics (or this movie) Hydra might be supposed to be worse than the Nazis, as far as the general audience is concerned, history shows that the Nazis are like the ultimate evil power. One can't just ignore the strength of that symbolism because it will hold more weight and have more impact than a Hydra symbol.

HYDRA are Nazis in this movie, so they're not supposed to replace them. This is just the side of the war that we've never heard about.

So in the new trailer we see him firing some energy projectile. Kind of cool that for the first time every some dorky launcher Hasbro included with their figure is actually in the film

Weaving's voice as The Red Skull in the new trailer sounds very similar to his Megatron in The Transformers Trilogy .

The number one thing I'm looking forward to is Hugo Weaving's performance. He is just such a gem of an actor.

Haven't seen Cap yet, and Weaving is obviously going to rock in that, but in case you guys are interested, I just saw him in Oranges and Sunshine, and that was probably the greatest Hugo Weaving performance I've ever seen.

It's an aussie movie, so I don't know how accessible it will be overseas, but well, well worth it if you can track it down, and as rare as it is, it was an Australian film that didn't make me ashamed to be an aussie. Brilliant film. That'll keep me going till Cap next week :P

I thought it was a bridge to Asgard since that is where the cube was at in Thor.

Fantastic performance. 'Nuff said.

Best actor for the role by far.

He didn't disappoint. I love the accent and his sort of slow and collected mannerisms. I also loved what a total egomaniac he was and how willing he was to kill off people himself. They played up his evil genius thing perfectly and I LOVED the scene where he kills Nazi officers. This made the Hydra vs Nazi thing perfectly permissible. I think his face looked great and there were so many great moments of him such as him and Arnim Zola surveying the rubble, him throwing Zola his keys and telling him not to scratch the car and of course the fight at the end.

Weaving owned every scene he was in he is. He is easily the best portrayed villain in the marvel movie universe . Loved his accent and the physical appearance of The Red Skull. Hugo Weaving was absolutely magnificent as The Red Skull out of all the movie villains we've seen so far in the marvel movies. Hugo is by far the best actor followed by Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2 and Tom Hiddleston as Loki in Thor. Every scene Weaving was in as The Red Skull was brilliant , He was menacing, he was a conniving genius basically he was evil incarnate exactly how Red Skull should be. The physical appearance of the Red Skull was perfect in every detail. I also loved seeing him ride The Skull mobile .

Agreed, I think Hugo Weaving as the Skull has outdone Molina as Doc Ock. He was perfect and my favorite part of the movie.

Weaving wasn't kidding when he said he was doing his best Werner Herzog impression. Part of me wants to see a DVD commentary with Weaving doing his Herzog over the entire movie.

This was a bit of a creep factor for me, but from the way they showed it, I got the impression Schmidt cut off his face, and he wasn't wearing a mask but it was his skin face put back on. Because on his ear, it looked like flesh that was cut not a seam in a mask.

That's an interesting thought, but not likely because had he cut his face off, you would've been able to see all the muscles underneath. It looked to me like the serum burned his face off and he just made himself a new face. Considering the type of technology he has available to him in the movie, it's probably not too far of a stretch to make a false face.
