The casting and look of this character are definitely solid, but how he's written and developed will be interesting. Making him more compelling than just "Evil Nazi Scientist with Ugly Face #506-87.3" will be a challenge.

Well one thing we do know is Weaving never mails it in. He elevates everything he is given to work with.

What the **** is up with that?? Revealing a ****** costume before showing us the real thing. C'mon Marvel...

Skull is pretty much pure evil, even guys like Doom and Magneto don't like having him around. Weaving is good enough to sell that, I think. Assuming the script doesn't have him dancing polkas or something absurd like that. :D

So this costume looks like it's patterned after the green one and looks like they're keeping the ears. Someone should do a side by side.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge a look of a movie guy according to a costume released. Costumes tend to look **** or have design changes to accomodate the fact that there's a human actually underneath it.

The ears staying for the mask is probably just because people would have protruding ears normally. I dont really think the official movie will have ears as the concepts actually have shown us a much more sinister look for him.

Judging by that mask, I can totally imagine a very awesome non crap studio quality based on hugo weavings actual features. But yeah I don't get the ears.

I hope the movie Red Skull looks better than that.:csad:

Oh it's got to man. That's like seeing someone wearing an official mass produced The Dark Knight Joker or Batman Halloween mask, before watching the movie, and expecting Heath or Christian to look as cheaply done on screen.

I bet it has all of the basic details though - unfortunately including the ears

That doesn't make a lot of sense - are you meant to fit your ears in to the masks?

A Batman cowl doesn't have ears to accomadate the fact that the wearer does

I think the Halloween costume looks cool, and thats just the Halloween costume so the mask/costume in the film has to be outstanding...right??

Yea, it just a halloween custom giving us a idea of what the character will look like.

On film, with the correct lighting and all, it should look fine.

No problem here, I think its ok.

That looks less skull-like and more that someone has stripped away the layers of his skin.

A Batman cowl doesn't have holes in the place where the ears were supposed to be either. It has a bulge to accomodate them.

What I'm saying is, since they can't have a hole there like in the movie, they actually included the ears instead of choosing to have a weird bulge of mass there so that the wearer's ears would fit inside the mask.

Weaving's distinct features will make the movie Skull look really awesome

Interestingly, bigbadtoystore havevremoved the Cap and Thor movie products from their pre-orders. Codes are still present, but images have been removed.
