Official JLA discussion thread - Part 2

I don't think she should be asexual, just completely ambivalent to sexual labeling/identity, especially from the west. "Are you gay? bi?" "Whats that?"

I don't give two ****s about a love interest for WW. The one I liked the most was the WW/Batman stuff that is hinted in a few comics for a brief time and in the Timmverse cartoons...but I like Batman/Catwoman much more. WW/Supes doesn't appeal to me. A few times Aquaman/WW infatuation has been hinted. And that I can dig because it never is anything beyond that (funniest use of this was the Queen of Fables arc). But nothing tops Aquaman/Mera so no thank you. So glad that Aquaman and Mera are back together. For real this time.

And I really hope DC does show her in a relationship with a woman one day soon

DC will never allow such a thing. Making Wonder Woman bisexual would just generate unnecessary controversy to one of their most iconic brands. She's forever doomed to being asexual or having boring heteroromantic relationships.

Well I'm loving JLA so far. It's surprises me how reckless Hal is. And I love how they're coming together as well.

Which is ****ing stupid. She was created by a writer who lived in a polymorphous relationship and an artist who was most likely a closeted gay man. It's pretty obvious that the Amazons are either gay or bi.

Wonder Woman's comics should be kinky and fetish-filled. It's just what the character was created to be.

Will you just wait another year. Morrison is coming.

I certainly agree that the Amazons were created to be gay or bi at most. But DC will never let Wonder Woman get down in the controversy.

And honestly I'd prefer Wonder Woman by George Perez and Greg Rucka over that of her original design.

I haven't read the original run, so I could be absolutely wrong, but wouldn't they have to be bi what with Steve Trevor's role and all?

It's becoming less and less of a controversy by the day.

Perez and Rucka (and I'd say Messner-Loebs too) did good work with Wonder Woman as a regular superhero comic but I think she needs the more unconventional approach to reach her full potential. There are two DC series where nothing should be too crazy to happen: Wonder Woman, and Captain Marvel.

In fact, WW and Cap have a lot in common, and if Cap were to be returned to his classic depiction where Cap and Billy regard one another as different people, I wouldn't mind seeing something between WW and Cap.

Which would result in a reverse creepy factor of that Cap and Stargirl relationship.....I dig it.

I find myself digging that as well for some bizarre reason.

Also, I prefer the child Captain Marvel.

I like child Marvel, too. I like it when the wisdom of Solomon manifests itself coming from the mouth of babes, so to speak.

I'd buy that.

Kurosawa, I'm not insulting your view even though I don't agree that that is the route they should go...but don't you think that this would really harm DC since people are more concerned about how women in comics are used and viewed lately?

I know almost nothing about Wonder Woman but if all the Amazons are gay or no men are allowed there, how do they reproduce? And why haven't the Amazon's died off? Do they live longer than humans? Just wondering, I guess this should go under the stupid questions thread lol.

I thought DC was sticking to the "Drawing the line at 2.99" thing. I thought Justice League# 1 was 3.99 just cause it's a "1st" issue but why is 2 still 3.99?

There's nothing bad about s&m/fetish or bisexuality though sidekick

As a female Wonder Woman fan I can honestly say i would love the character more if she was a kinky bisexual

:down

Fail in a whale

I really hope she isn't and that one day she will get to have a female love interest

It would be neat if she finally had a love interest that was actually interesting to me

I love everything about this post

And if this happened in the comic books I would love DC forever
Will you just wait another year. Morrison is coming.

I cannot wait for his Wonder Woman stories

He's going to be the best thing to happen to the character since Rucka

The Amazons are immortal

Themyscira is pretty much my idea of the perfect place to live. An island only of women all of whom are lesbian or bisexual

I want to live there. So much :atp:

I thought DC was sticking to the "Drawing the line at 2.99" thing. I thought Justice League# 1 was 3.99 just cause it's a "1st" issue but why is 2 still 3.99?

DC puts in extra content with Justice League, Action Comics, All Star Western, and Men of War.

In August's issue, DC put in a couple extra story pages and some extra content about the redesign of the characters. That is why it cost $3.99 for Justice League #1, not because it was a #1 issue. This month they put in a transcript interview with Steve Trevor in regards to Wonder Woman and more content about the character redesigns. Starting with issue #5, Justice League will be getting a Co-Feature titled "The Curse of Shazam" by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.

DC is sticking with the "Drawing the line at $2.99" mantra. All regular sized comics are priced at $2.99 regardless of creator, character, or importance of the title. It's just the comics that are bigger that they are charging $3.99 for. Which is a-okay with me.

I don't think a woman would make Wonder Woman's love life interesting. I fear that if DC made Wonder Woman bisexual, they would treat it the way they treated Batwoman before Greg Rucka's run on Detective Comics in which they played it for shocks and exposure as opposed to any genuine character development.

Not only that, but it's true. While homosexuality is accepted in today's day and age, it would still generate far too much unnecessary controversy. There would be a lot of non-homophobic fans who would be annoyed because ever since her creation Wonder Woman has been established to pretty much be heterosexual. And of course you have ignorant homophobic complaints who don't even know what is going on but will complain anyways. And then the unnecessary exposure on Fox News.

It's just bad business to generate any form of controversy with iconic brands. It's best to just play it safe.

I'm too afraid that Morrison would totally ****e up Wonder Woman the way he did Batman :csad:

I dont see anything bad about Bruce or Wonder Woman enjoying sex and being sexually active

Why do you feel Morrison made Bruce a '****e' hippie_hunter

And Wonder Woman having a girlfriend would make her love life far more interesting to me if it was well written. As I find same sex romances in fiction far more interesting than opposite sex romances

I find the vast majority of opposite sex romances in fiction dull and utterly uninteresting :down

Probably because not everyone can be on the same level like Aquaman and Mera.

That's ********, Mysti.

By rejecting hetero romances out of hand, you're committing the same crimes that often are perpetrated against homo romances.

If I wrote a story about Reed and Sue where they actually describe their sexual romps, you'd be all over it.

:D

:ff: :ff: :ff:

I said the vast majority Franklin not all of them :oldrazz:

I'm not saying heterosexuality is bad or that I hate it or hate heterosexual romances in fiction. I'm just saying that the vast majority of 'boy meets girl' stories are just really boring to me personally :)

If its really well written then yeah I'll dig it.

But I prefer reading a well written story where boy meets boy or girl meets girl. That's the kind of romance story that I really enjoy :)

And yep I would totally read that story if you wrote it :ninja:
