How is Vic going to become Cyborg and a useful member of the JLA within so few issues? This concerns me.

Happy to see Captain Marvel will be showing up though. I think Johns will do a pretty great job writing him. Not on a Jeff Smith level, but still good.

This book makes me miss Morrison.
It looks and feels like one of those elseworlds I would have avoided back in the day.

And what's with Lantern? Is that how Johns usually writes hal? If so guess I see why everyone talks about his latnern books. (And no wonder they cast Reynolds)

I am cautiously optimistic about Captain Marvel

Glad that he's getting some love and hoping they don't ruin him

"Look, Superman! I've hacked the cell phones of some of Darkseid's minions! Now we can listen in and learn what his master plan is!"

"What his--? He's the god of evil! His master plan is to destroy everything! WE KNEW THIS TEN HOURS AGO WHEN HE SHOWED UP AND DECLARED IT!"

"But now we know he's sending his minions to get bread, cheese, and AXE shower gel!"

Cyborg: And he's been sending saucy texts to someone in his phone address book under the name EmeraldGreenLoverBoy

Hal Jordan: .....

Superman:

Morrison never really did it for me on JLA. All of his plots just seemed to have so much going on, nothing ever really had a chance to breathe.

I liked Waid much better.

Kelly's arcs were some of my favorites, but I think I like Morrison's run best. I actually liked that everything seemed to be happening at once in his arcs. In the JLA's world, why wouldn't everything happen all at once? Why wouldn't the sky be falling in like three different ways simultaneously? The point of the JLA is that they're so damn good, they can still deal with it.

I'm not saying Morrison's stories didn't make sense for the JLA...Im just not a fan of that style writing. I would've preferred something a bit slower paced, and with more time spent on the characters rather than the events.

I actually still haven't read Kelly's stuff yet.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. But every time I try to explain this to people, they just say I didn't understand it and call me an idiot. it's ****ing annoying.

I enjoyed the way he brought back so many neat old JLA villains like the Key and Queen Bee

And Starro!

You totally should its good stuff

I think Kelly's JL run was my favorite. His one issue story with Ray Palmer finding a mini civilization is one of my favorite single issues I've ever read. I think it was a Christmas special or something.

Plus, he wrote Obsidian Age. Total badassery.

So far not impressed. Cyborg does not belong. I didn't like Jeff Smith's interpretation of Cap. Hope this one is good unlike the new Superman (also unimpressive.):csad:

Joe Kelly's run was one of my favorites. I loved how a lot of characters got to have the spotlight on them, especially Martian Manhunter and Plastic Man.

I liked what Kelly did with him. Having him being the only one capable of battling the Burning and then surviving a 1000 years (or however long he was lost during the Obsidian Age) was pretty damn epic.

they should give Kelly a Plastic Man ongoing. Lord knows it would be better than some of the other crap they've given books to in the relaunch.

I'm excited for the next issue, I know a lot of people do not like this book or GL's characterization but this is supposed to be a younger cockier Hal and that's why he is written in this manner he is actually very different from GL Hal.

In that he's younger, right? Hal's still a cocky *****e.

I guess Hal really matures in the 5 yrs since the story in Justice League 1-6 (I miss JLA).

Yes but he is a mature cocky *****e in the flagship GL title. Haha.
