I am saying is he still set to appear in GL solo movie as John... since that is obviously no longer in developmental hell.
Well i dont think there is any john stewart plans in the current gl film. Only cameos that been talked about are the guy garner and the possible clark kent cameo(though i can see ck one getting cut since superman status is unkown still).

The Justice League script was in the "black list" of the best scripts of 2007 and was reportedly very faithful to a couple of storylines from the books.

What is this "black list" you speak of? I would very much like to know.

I think in the end the secrecy in this project really did set the expectations against it. At the point in wich they wern't revealing info about it, everyone had a "super secret source that knows it sucks, but shhh! I'm not allowed to say anything concrete" or a fake ass script review. I think it having a seemingly young cast set many against it early on, and had them ready to believe whatever was said, no matter how improbable or obviously mean spirited, and make minor niggling details into signs that it would suck. Even today, some aparently have it as some new standard for how wrong a superhero movie can go, despite(or arguably because) so little was known by the general public.

The 'black list' is an annual list of the best unproduced scripts for that year. I believe it's put together by those who've read them (i.e. producers, studio execs, etc).

Thanks to both of you, I did not know all that!

IESB tries to squeeze Common for anything regarding his involvement with JL:M.

IESB Exclusive: THE A-TEAM's B.A. Baracus Has Something in Common!

[snip]

IESB: I'm hearing that if it happens we should be hearing something pretty soon?

Common: Yes, that's what they are saying, if it goes. But you know you need to keep your pace and patience and let things develop. I've been a part of, I mean, Justice League and we rehearsed and everything.

IESB: Suits and all, right?

Common: Yeah I had my costume and everything so you know you just keep that faith and let things flow and not be to anxious and let things go.

[snip]

IESB: Give us an update, what is going on with Justice League, we hear that it's on hold, Megan Gayle recently said that she is hearing that it still might go. Some folks at the studio are saying that it's still a few years away. What is the latest thing?

Common: I haven't heard any talk from Justice League since last year I don't think it's anything that is going to happen anytime soon, I don't believe, my agent or no one has heard that they are bringing Justice League back soon.

IESB: It was close man, it was happening.

Common: Yeah, we were down there, we were down there, [with] George Miller.

IESB: How different was it compared to the existing Superman or the existing Batman? Different take?

Common: It was a fresh take, a fresh direction. I saw a lot of the storyboards, man it looked so incredible. And you know George Miller was just going to smash it.

i still wish some pics of the costumes would come online so atless we could have seen what they wanted with costumes.

As do I, Webhead, but I'm not counting on ever seeing these pics. Though, there might be a better chance of reading the script one day.

I really, really, really, hope we can see pics or the script some day.

yea it would be nice if the production would release script/pics since we all know jlm is never likely to ever happen and if a jl film does happen it wont be for a good 7+ yrs at the rate wb is going and all that.

Yelchin sorta maybe confirms he was cast in JL:M. I'm guessing as Wally.

Anton: And then suddenly “Terminator” came up and at the same time at that time they were going to be making a “Justice League” and that came up and I was like “Wow. There’s three now. ****.

Right.

Anton: So “Justice League” ended up falling apart whatever-never happened.

And Common continues to lament over a lost opportunity.

Speaking of trying to grow, what ever happened with Justice League? That seemed like a really good opportunity. What happened with that?

I think, you know, at the time it was the writer’s strike that disturbed the progress of it. And then I just think the movie just fell apart for reasons inside that I really don’t know, like the specifics to it. But, God willing, they’ll come back around with it and when they do, hopefully I will be the Green Lantern.

So you’re still pushing for it?

Yeah, I will go for it. If they do the John Stewart character. And who knows, they may go for Hal Jordan, the original Green Lantern. ‘Cause they’re making the Green Lantern movie with Hal Jordan.

Wow… so close for ya…

Oh man, I had on the costume for Green Lantern, we was down there rehearsing.

Oh man…

Yeah, it was for real, we were in production.

Damn dude, and to not really know the how and the why.

Yeah, we don’t really know why. But we know something wasn’t working. And you know, at this point, I don’t think it is anybody’s fault, it just didn’t work out so… I feel like, when its supposed to happen it will happen.

Awww...

On hindsight, maybe they should have held off preproduction until they got the tax excemption.

So it's true that Anton Yelchin was going to be Wally West/The Flash. I wonder why Adam Brody was sporting read hair in the pics of him in Australia a while back. Hopefully the script and concept art leaks sometime in the near future.

Something tells me the Script hasn't leaked yet, like Wonder-Woman or The Flash did, because Warner still wants to shoot if after the individual films and it's keeping it as under wraps as any other movie they're producing.

Possible, I would like to at least see some of the concept art since I don't believe will see of the costume in action in any future DC films.

I think superman and batman should take a backseat and allow characters who don't have their own successful movie franchises time to shine. (Plus Superman is boring) Maybe it could be set in the period after superman is dead, and the movie starts with his death.

I agree that Superman and Batman should take a back seat. In the story I was working on I had it narrowed down to Flash and Aquaman being the primary charcters.

As for Superman being boring, you couldn't be more wrong. He's probably just too much excitement for most to handle. Just skim over the DC universe and you'll see that damn near every baddie that comes to earth has some sort of beef with Superman. I think there is still more to this Kryptonian than we know.

Well it does not matter now because this film is not being made anytime soon. However, when the film finally gets back into pre-production, many of those characters would have had at least one solo film, and that idea you suggested may not be necessary.

While we’re not suggesting you hold your breath waiting to see George Miller’s live-action “Justice League” movie, that doesn’t mean we’re not intrigued with the fact that such a film almost happened — and taking every opportunity possible to find out more about it.

At a recent press event for “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” MTV News spoke to actress Teresa Palmer, who was once the rumored front-runner to play Talia Al Ghul in “Justice League: Mortal” before a host of issues stalled the project indefinitely. While Palmer confirmed that she was — and still is — tagged to play the daughter of Batman villain Ra’s Al Ghul, that was where her certainty ended about any aspect of the film.

“I’m still attached to the film,” Palmer told MTV News when asked if she heard any news about the film. “But who knows if the movie is going to come off the ground or not. I hope it does, obviously.”

“I have no idea. I’m always the last person to find these things out,” added Palmer.

As for the experience of getting all ready to play some of the comics world’s most iconic characters — to the point of trying on the costumes, in some cases — only to have the project be suddenly thrown into limbo, Palmer said it was just as big a let-down for the cast as it was for everyone interested in the project.

“It was very bittersweet, because we got there and we were all really excited that this film was going to come off the ground,” said Palmer. “We rehearsed for a while, and then it all sort of fell through.”

I hope JL:M never comes out. But i do hope a JL movie does come out some point down the line

If the script was as good as rumored, I would still like to see Justice League: Mortal. With an improved cast.
