Official New Avengers Discussion Thread!

If Spider-Man takes down Osborn it will have the same effect as Norman killing the Skrull Queen, it will make him the savior. And Spider-Man is better off being the hero that half of the innocent people love and the other half fear.

Cap (Rogers) would fit the savior role nicely fully completing the effect of Reborn.

I doubt that will happen while Norman is in a good light, and such achievements never helped Spider-man's rep before when he publically defeated a huge threat to the city.
It should be Spider-man that gets him in the end. It's only fitting.

Like I said, Cap, Iron-Man, even Luke Cage all have legitimate reasons to be the one to bring down Norman. I'm hoping Spidey starts taking more of a spotlight in this arc. Afterall, it is what drives Norman. I just think Marvel was missing a chance of Norman using his position to really make Spider-Man's life a living hell. (It could really been worse if he remembered Pete was Spidey)

But when you get down to it, who else should bring down Norman?

If Dr. Doom was the big threat to the MU, who do you want to take him down?

If Red Skull was the big threat to the MU, who do you want to take him down?

If Norman Osborn was the big threat to the MU, who do you want to take him down?

What reason does Luke Cage have?

It's not always a given that a villain is automatically taken down by his arch enemy. Black Panther was the one who took out the Red Skull at the end of "Red Zone".

Oh that's right the bomb in the heart thing. I read so much stuff I can barely retain some of it. I think I need to cut back some on all these books.

yep. Norman has made it a mission to take down the New Avengers and Luke has been a leader and the glue that has helped keep the team together. Norman hates what he represents and has made it a goal to go after him

The fight/Take-Down does not have to necessarily be made public....

Yeah Bendis made it pretty clear Luke has never been leader lol. When Clint was on his whole who will lead the team thing and he says something like "Luke you've been leading the team pretty well" and Cage replies "what? I'm not the leader" and then no one stepped up to be leader so Clint assumed the position. that was like 2 or 3 issues right after SI

They blew up Norman's summer house. :p It was awesome. :D

I remember that. Cage may not have considered himself one, but he's pretty much been the defacto leader since Civil War ended. He's the one thats stepped up the most and been put in the forefront, making many of the big decisions. The characters viewed him as such and felt like more of one than Clint

Wait, has Clint really become the leader of the NA? But he is dumb.

haha, I wouldnt say he's dumb but these days he's extremely impulsive and angry which has caused him to make foolish decisions which have endangered himself and compromised the safety and lives of his teammates

It mostly likely will be since there's been a floating kingdom over Oklahoma and one of it's residents is going to be involved in a massive explosion at Soldier Field killing thousands. The media will be all over that. Isn't there a SIEGE: Frontline book coming out?

Steve Rogers makes his triumphant return to the Avengers, but is he too late? With the SIEGE on Asgard begun, he must act swiftly, but who can he turn to and trust in a world with Norman Osborn in charge?

When the gods fall, what chance does a Super Soldier stand? The biggest shake up since DISASSEMBLED starts here!

- Marvel

So I guess they blew up that place Fury gave to Steve really early on in Captain America? That kind of sucks. I liked that place.

Wait, the fate of the one they call Mockingbird? I will murder Bendis if he brought her back in his previous event just to kill her off again in his next one.

There should be a rule that there can't be a death/resurrection of the same character twice in one decade.

Acuna does not draw (or paint or whatever) a very good Spider-Man to me. But it's New Avengers and it seems to focus heavily on Spider-Woman, so there's no chance I was gonna read this anyway.

On the plus side it actually looks like bendis might be bothering to look up the power sets on a few of that massive group he formed years ago and deciding to use them.
