Official: Prince of Persia Next-Gen Thread

Prince of Persia DLC interview.

Prince of Persia was one of the last games to hit store shelves in '08. Now it becomes among the first to release major downloadable content in '09. The Prince of Persia Epilogue DLC comes to PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 26. Pricing has yet to be announced. What we do know is that the new POP continues the story of the retail game, ups the difficulty, adds a new power for Elika and attack for the Prince, reveals a brand new location, and includes two unlockable skins that become available after completing the Epilogue. It's a significant update.

I was JUST about to post this. Seems like quite a bit of stuff. I hope its no more than $10 but it seems like its something that will be worth more

Awesome. I really enjoyed Prince of Persia, yea it was a bit too easy, but it was such a fun ride that i didnt mind. Cant wait for the DLC.

I'm always curious now whether DLC that continues the story in some way was really just content the devs couldn't get into the game itself on time.

Anyway, I doubt I'll get the DLC. At least, not right away. I want to finish up my nostalgia trip with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and then get the DLC for Fallout 3 first. (Although Games for Windows Live is making it kind of a b**** to do that. I miss the days when I could just go to the game's website and download it.)

If you delete DLC, can you download it again without paying for it? 'Cause that would basically solve any memory problems right there if you can.

As far as I know, that's the case. Everything you purchase from LIVE is tied to your gamertag and you can re-download it for free.

Well, there you go. Just delete DLC associated with games you're not playing.

Yeah....I was having memory problems too. Mostly because I've come to enjoy installing games to my HDD. I deleted my Shivering Isles DLC...but I have the disc for that, so I had no fear whatsoever.

I'm looking foward to this. Man.....DLC has been good this month so far.

As much as I enjoyed PoP, it really made me miss the Sands of Time prince. Part of the time playing this Prince of Persia, I spent thinking how the old prince would kick this prince's ass. And visualizing that.

It would be interesting to see a game that crosses the two continuities somehow.

Eh i liked this prince, altho, i like Nolan North alot, so maybe thats why i liked this Prince.

Prince of Persia creator Mechner confirms that a new Ubisoft game is going to be announced for a release in 2010 and soon after, Ubisoft Lead Character Developer announces that a new Prince of Persia game is in development. Also, the title "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands" has been recently trade marked by Mechner.

I'm excited, are you?

Things to fix:

Multiple Enemies:
Add multiple enemies so that you can fight more than one person at a time

Evolving Skills:
Aquire new combat abilities and new gear to use in and out of fights (similar to Zelda but most recently Arkham Asylum).

Multiplayer:
I think it would also be interesting if you could do multiplayer with the Princess as a playable character.

Difficulty:
Also the difficulty levels should be adjusted seeing how the game was REALLY easy.

Enhancing Plate Experiences:
Also, I think it would be cool if you could fight while passing through plates. That would be intense.

Travelling the WORLD and other Cities:
Passing through populated cities would be an interesting concept as we only briefly got glimpses of these possibilities in SoT and TT. Something similar to AC would be interesting. The whole world is now enveloped in darkness, so lets travel the world.

Transportation:
Now how are you planning on travelling the world!? By foot? Hell no! Bring in two forms of transportation: A horse (like Zelda or AC) which you control to pass through territories and between cities (whistle for it when you step out of the city), perhaps you could by a chariot for the horse later which you can equip when needed (going back to TT) and A flying carpet. It's Prince of Persia and the flying Persian Carpets have yet to be introduced, this would be ideal for travelling between kingdoms. For longer distances, there's still Elika.

Elika:
Elika should be able to fight, using a new fighting style and different kind of platform. When in multiplayer, she would be weaker but her attacks have range.

Outfits:
The costumes should logically change throughout the game, and for God's sake, get rid of the stupid scarf or wrap it around his waist.

Cinematics:
Please bring in cinematics here and there with the same engine the original trailer for Prince of Persia 2008 was released.

Myths:
Also, include other elements of Shahnameh or Avesta. It's always fun to pick up on those

I'd ask for them not to hold the game's ending hostage again.

Then again, if people are going to pretend to be pissed about the casting of Jake Gyllenhaal...they might as well pretend to be pissed about Nolan North and (gasp!) Yuri Lowenthal.

I'll keep an eye on this one, for sure, though.

Ive been thinking about a sequel. I loved the first game and look forward to the nexxt one

Id like for them to make the game closer to the Sands of Time, Warrior Within etc etc. I mean i enjoyed PoP, but i liked the last trilogy far more.

How about a Princess Of Persia this time?
Maybe she and the others are part of a whole bloodline of warriors

Then...it's wouldn't be The Prince of Persia anymore...

I think the fanbase would hate the idea, by in large. It's a franchise with a long history and all that. I'm not really sure how they can change the current one to be more like Sands of Time, without sorta breaking what they made with the first.

I thought the game was good, and visually it was very eye catching.

I'm assuming the sequel will probably hit around the time of the movie, probably.

But it's scientifically proven than men are stronger than women. lol

The game was fun, but needed alot of improvement. Then again, after seeing the improvements Ubisoft made from AC1 to AC2, I don't see why they can't make the same level of improvement on POP.
