Objectively, it's a very good song. But thematically, it's not very "dwarvish" to me, it sounds like elves doing a cover version of a traditional dwarf song. "Too Celtic" if that makes any sense.

I really like this version of the song.

For some reason, the way he sings reminds me of the animated Hobbit movie music.

Don't like Finn's version at all. They took an awesome tune and made it cheesey & clichéd from start to finish. And it doesn't fit the tone of the films either.

Doesn't come close to the highs reached by Fellowship of the Ring. Though I admit I am being unfair holding this to that. Fellowship is the kind of sky high watermark reached only once in a few decades that not even its original maker can replicate.

Yeah, it starts out good but then devolves into a sort of pop music thing with tons of unnecessary sound effects. The worst end credits song yet from a Peter Jackson Middle Earth film.

I like the anvil and background ambience. Gives it a live folk sound. Fits great imo.

I also agree with the idea that Neil Finn's version is a bit lacklustre. It's being sung in a similar vein to the other end credit songs when it should be more "earthy" or certainly atmospheric. Not Dwarven enough... basically what PR said
