I'm actually resisting the orge to watch these tv spots. I just dont want to know more about this than i already do by having read the book. I want to be surprised, visually speaking :oldrazz:

Not sure which line you're referencing, but the two lines he speaks are:

"Why did you come?"

&

"Have you done much fighting?"

I'm guessing Jackson in that image is using the simul-cam that allows him to see the CG version of the mo-capped actors' performances in real time—a James Cameron co-invention for Avatar.

That shot of Bilbo taking Sting out of the pile, glowing. Beautiful.

You're welcome.

I was a Best Buy yesterday and they still had it at $100. That's a good deal!

That boxset is seriously the best blu ray out there to buy in general. 40 hours of movie + extras + multiple commentaries is well worth the price.

The blu-ray box set is a mixed bag at best. All the extra material is the exact same disc you got if you bought the other boxsets.

Yeah that sucked but i was glad to get the extended editions on bluray. I got it back when it first came out. It was worth the price

Yeah I got it when it was on sale last Christmas. I like having the extended version on blu-ray. But the extras, just blah, especially after the SW boxset.

Haha now personally Ill take the lotr extras on dvd over what we got in the star wars bluray. It may have been a dvd but peter jackson delivers on extras and there is supposed to be hours of extras not released which is insane considering the amount that the Extended Editions included. As far as extras go Id rank it:

Alien Anthology bluray
LOTR Extended Editions dvd
Star Wars bluray

This all being subjective of course.

How would you rate the picture quality on the extended editions? I read there was some type of issue. I own the theatrical cuts on blu ray , but I'm considering an upgrade.

I never saw any issue with the picture quality myself with the extended editions. Also, I never saw any of the extras before hand so all of them were new to me.
