I'll buy the tpb but I don't think I'll like it. It's the art that puts me off.

Joe Mad used to be one of my favorite artists back in the day. I still like his okay these days, but it's certainly not enough to get to buy an Unverse book.

5 issues didn't surprise me. This is Joe Mad we're talking about. I'd rather them be honest about the output of the creative team rather than b/s us with a year long 12 issue arc. As it is, it will still probably take a year to finish.

I'm not expecting 3 to have the same impact as the other 2, no matter how much I worship Joe Mad as an artistic God among men, but I'm still excited for it. Seems like there's a real sense of pessimism surrounding the new volume. They might surprise us though...Ultimates could inject some life into the flat Ultimate U. Aren't they saying volume 3 is supposed to act as some type of prelude for Ultimatum, and subsequently, the "all-new Ultimate U?"
