The design for Iron Man is terrible. Including 616 it's the worst i've seen in years.

I just stopped on Ultimates VOl.2 #8, I cant get my hnads on the enxt couple of issues.

I think Thor is the best Ultimate. He's the best guy in the whole Ultimate Universe with Iorn-Man a close 2nd. Thor looks like a guy that the bad guys would dread going up against.

If the issuses are all so late when can we expect the Ultimates 2 Volume 2 collection? Anyone have any ideas?

I only found out yesteday there was gonna be a 4 and possibly 5 and your saying there is art work already?! Does that mean there is art work for 3 as well? I would go through 100+ pages to see if it's alread been posted but that is 100+ pages... That's a lot for me.

there is an artical about Loeb and Ed and their Ultimates 4 stuff, and included in the artical are a few sketches by Ed.
Sketches include Hulk, Captain America, and Spider-Woman (who apperently was not suppossed to be shown).
Then there is a sketch of Absorbing Man by Ed somewhere a few pages back on this thread. (page 103 is a link to a wizard artical with the AM picture.) And i think there is a picture he did of Thor too.

Its going to be awesome. Maybe Ultimates will start having characters like Absorbing Man, Kang, and various other Avenger foes.

I'm not too sure about that pic of Iron Man, I still think The Ultimates issue 2 had the best ever pic of Iron Man on it's cover. I do like/love the Cap pic tho.

Why on earth would they pic Joe Mad to do this book? I was hoping it at least look SIMILIAR to Hitch. I mean Scarlet Witch and Iron Man look nothing like Hitch's versions....

See, I kinda guessed Scarlet Witch but what's up with her hands? She hasn't shown any powers like that in the Utimates and I haven't read enough of Ultimate X-Men to know (I'm only on Return of the King).

Yeah, that's kind of bugging me too. They're not supposed to be The Avengers, they're supposed to be The Ultimates.

I'm not a fan of Joe, but i guess I'll give him a shot. I have seen some art i liked. like a Wonder Woman he drew, his Hulk looks alright as well.
but alot of his sketches look stiff and not in the style I like.

But also, these are from his sketch book. Jim Lee released his sketchbook stuff for Batman, Superman, and Batman Allstars,
and they characters he showed wasn'ty always the final version.

These drawings are just to advertise and get people interested.
they will probably look better in comic book form, being inked and painted and in front of backgrounds and in fight scenes.

Actually, if you look back at Ultimate X-Men issue 3 (I think), you see Scarlet Witch shooting flashes of red light from her hands.

I thought the whole point of the Ulimates was that it was a 'what would the Avengers really be like in the real world' kinda thing. Hitch's realistic type art supported that idea.

Now the've got Joe Mad to do the art chores - talk about a stylistic change! Not liking the choice of Joe Mad for the Ultimates at all - those designs have only reinforced my view even more. Joe's a cool artist and all but the style of this book requires something a tad more realistic. He's be better off on a 616 title somewheres IMO.

I'm definately concerned for this title after Millar and Hitch leave.
