It's mostly Millar. He created the Ultimates as they are, and after he's gone, it simply won't be as interesting. And it sure as hell won't be worth the long waits. I dropped Ultimate X-Men after he left too. Not a Bendis fan.

You missed out on BKV's run which was the best run the book has seen.Sure it didn't have Millar's blockbuster madness,but he got the characters right and everyone wasn't acting badass.

I'm a huge Millar fan but felt that his Ultimate X-Men got weak and repetitive after the first 6 issues.

Hopefully the new guys won’t have long delays. And sure it’s not gonna be the same but you don’t know it might go in a direction that you like, it does have Lobe after all and he’s a good writer for Smallville and Lost (I don’t know how his comics go).

Millar is one of the only 4 or 5 writers whose work I actually like to read on a regular basis. The guy picking up the Ultimates after him isn't one of them. Simple as that.

no because even if an issue of ultimate so far has been slower then the rest its never been bad,i can think of one issue that id consider slow 11.i i think every issue gets better then the next with that one exception.I couldent stand ultimates being here and there and the art I will never like.The more I see the more hate.

back on topic, I will give Ultimates 3 a try, simply because sometimes Loeb can hit the target. Long Halloween is one of my all time favourate stories.

It's just his recent work that's been pretty bad but maybe he can hit the nail on the head this time. *crosses fingers*

Yeah, they do. I think S.H.E.I.L.D.'s Hellcarrier Navy is going to be severly depleted after Gand Theft America. Maybe 3 or 4 ships. (i'm assuming that Ultimates 3 starts directly after, or near abouts, Ultimates 2). In a weird way, i'm kinda hoping they go with a base akin to the Stark Tower in 616.

I know. That's why I said they'll build one. A big one. The main base. In regular continuity there's a bunch of Hellicarriers but there is the one big one that's the main S.H.I.E.L.D base where Fury runs things.

I want them to rebuild the Triskelion on that wee island. They can use all of Starks money if the need/want, to just don't call it Stark Tower like 616. Also, surely since they have the wee island that is gonna be safer than in the middle of the city. It’s safer medieval style, they have a f**ing moat and everything!

You really think that lowly of Jeph Loeb?

I mean sure Mark is good but then again,his sh_t stinks like anyone else's.See MK Spidey,Ultimate X-Men,Trouble,etc.

It's probably safe to say that TSOG (Hey, that's a name in and of itself) liked Millar's UXM. So did I.

Hey, I like Loeb. I like Mad's art, too... he's one of my favorites when it comes to drawing cartoony comic art. Therein lies the problem for some of us, though. When we think of The Ultimates, we're not thinking cartoony. I think Loeb's and Mad's styles will blend together wonderfully, but I don't think that their styles will blend with The Ultimates all too well. From the reports we've gotten, both want to carry make The Ultimates more like the 616 Avengers... which, for most of us, isn't what we want.

I like Loeb, but I'm of the same mindset as a few others in this thread. I'll give Ultimates 3 a try, but if the first one or two issues don't do it for me, I'm not going to waste my money on the title.

Loeb/Mad's Ultimates 3 could very well be fine, a swell title with no delays and good stories. But even with all the delays that have plagued Ultimates and Ultimates 2, Millar/Hitch is going to be a tough act to follow.

you know,over in the general movies i read a comment about somone not liking that in ua 1 hulk picked up thors hammer,it occured to me that no one had picked up his hammer but him and that other guy in there entire ultimates series,not even tried to.
