That scuffle felt a bit fake to me. DC was tweeting afterwards about "No man's gonna put his forehead on my forehead!" It's a face-off, ya dolt. I've seen dudes nose to nose before

Nah, bro. That was real. You could tell the way Cormier pushes Jones away. The dude took Jones by the throat and then like gripped, then pushed. Which I don't mind happening to Jones, the dude is so fake. I've never liked him, since I found out he used to be a tattle tale in high school. Hope he gets mauled.

That was a real brawl... It was a really awful brawl, but a real brawl nonetheless.

Anderson Silva making his return then against Diaz 31st January 2015..

Pretty big fight for both guys, to be honest if Silva wasn't just coming off a horrific leg break I wouldn't think this fight would even be close simply because of how versatile Silva is on the feet in comparison to Diaz. But because he is, it makes this fight a little more intriguing.

I still fully expect Silva to dominate Diaz as I don't think he'd have stepped in for another fight if he was nervous on throwing kicks, but we won't know till fight night. If Silva shows no hesitation & is his relaxed self in there, he'll pick Diaz about probably finishing him.. but if he does hesitate, he'll invite Diaz in to try to overwhelm him with pressure the way Sonnen somewhat did.

Well, new contender created right there. Henderson definitely got clobbered and lost his legs briefly but he immediately recovered. All that nonsense about "Benson struggling to get up" was because John McCarthy was sitting on top of him.

Oh man, I loved that fight. RDA really put it on Bendo from the get go. You could tell Bendo was really uncomfortable in there.

UFC’s greed to monetize more content and deliver as many shows as possible to as many global markets possible has taken the best roster in MMA and turned it into an impotent and crappy product. I mean just look at the ultimate fighter, they take some of their best fighters, and waste a year of their careers doing a stupid reality tv show that nobody even watches. Bringing these half-ass shows to different countries trying to pimp their nationality with watered-down cards featuring a local fighter, or in China’s case, any fighter who looks half-asian. It’s a joke and a dumb strategy…You don’t need to go all over the world to spread your product… I used to tune into Pride from half way across the globe because they’d put on stacked cards… if a restaurant has great food people will drive to get the food… if you’re putting on great fight cards people will make an effort to tune in. The UFC has fugged up big time, and they’ve got nobody to blame but themselves with their greedy asses… how you can take the amazing roster of fighters they have and fug things up this bad is beyond me.

I've said it from the beginning, I never liked the UFC signing this deal with FOX. It has really cost them quality. We've had two major numbered PPV cards right out cancelled and god knows how many main events wish washed. I lost my interest in watching the sport. I remember I used to watch every MMA event, but when you have one every other day, it loses its magic. It used to be an EVENT to watch amazing fights. They need to revert back to ONE event a month. And just stack the cards. Because this current situation they have is ridiculous.

I still train and my passion is deep for training, but watching this sport now is ridiculous with every fighter dropping out events. Its not even safe to buy a ticket to go see this live, because you're not going to get the event that was first announced.

The FOX deal isn't the problem imo, it is the number of PPVs and Fight Pass cards that stretch them thin. The FOX cards are the best things about them at this point.

The old adage still prevails today:

Quality over Quantity

I'm there with you. I use to look forward to these cards (I was giddy as a school girl at times). I wouldn't miss a single one. Nowadays, I've only bought one and bothered to watch three of them overall. People can say I'm not a real fight fan but the reality is why should I bother watching scrubs fight each other when I can do that for free at the local dojo? Scratch that. There's been more excitement in those sparring brawls than what The UFC has featured in the last couple of months. It's a freaking joke at this point. UFC 177 has got to be the worst fight card the company has ever put there ever.

Well, at least there's Glory Kickboxing.

The numbered events stay to one a month. But ever since the FOX deal the output of events has tripled. The FOX cards are awesome, agreed there, but some of the dudes that fight on those cards really don't belong in the UFC at this time. A lot of these dudes need to be more evolved before hitting the big show.

It seems like ever since the UFC got the deal with FOX, their heads got really big. It doesn't feel like a spectacle anymore. Its lost its magic.

WOOO! Loved see Overeem getting knocked. Knew it would happen. His head to is too small for the heavyweight division, if that makes sense. Set up Rothwell/Meathead for #1 contender.

I got 3/4 correct on the main card. Wish Mousasi would've won. And I although I'm glad Lauzon won, I think Chisea deserves rematch.

Ben Rothwell got revenge for the lost UFC 178 main event of Jones vs. Cormier, which was killed because Overeem injured Jones during training.

Seriously, Overeem is the most overrated heavyweight prospect of all time.

Yeah. He isn't going to go anywhere in the UFC. Maybe he could do something in Bellator, but even there, I could see Lavar Johnson knocking him.

Overeem could go to Bellator and roid up when they fight on the Reservations, beat up some scrubs, and then have his crazy fanbase saying **** like how he'd destroy the UFC again.

What a resurgence if you think about it. Arlovski was on a knocked out streak a few years ago and now look at him. You have to wonder how well some 205ers would fare versus heavyweights. I think they'd fare well enough to be honest.

Good to see AA get the win last night. He's always been one of favs.

Just goes to show how shallow the heavyweight division is.

Akiyama looked class, and that throw was absolutely delicious. One of the sport's chins cracked, Gomi losing by TKO for the first time. Jury looks good, this year has been solid in letting him build his name off of stars. Then Hunt rinsed Nelson. He walk offed him.

Yeah, that Hunt KO was beautiful!

I hated to watch Amir and Akiyama go at it. Fan of both guys.

And Jury is a beast.

It would be insane if they make a fight like Hunt vs. Arlovski, and one of them gets a title shot. They were basically down in the dumps and written off some years ago, but they've made comebacks lately that could put them in title contention again. It's a testament to how bad the heavyweight division has always been, but it's nice to see those guys on the upswing.

Arlovski looked fast and is the man, was happy to see him win and do it in style to.

Would love to see Arlovski vs Mir/Nog or Barnett.
