Agreed. He should be stripped. Hate interim titles, because once a person has it, they don't want to defend it.

Frankly, I'm not sure GSP should fight again either. His talk of alien abductions and lost time makes me think he has post concussion syndrome.

The problem with stripping titles is that there will be a big dispute when the champ comes back. Everyone would call the new champ a paper champ until he/she defeats the former reigning champ that never lost the title in the cage. I think that they should give the champs about 16 months to defend before stripping them. That would be fair enough. We don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water. Take a guy like Weidman. He's only fought once this year, and has been injured most of it. Why strip him when he's barely into his reign? If he can't go for another year I understand, but you don't want to create a jumbled mess of things by having what some would consider paper champs.

The bigger problem to me is having champs film TUF. Not many people watch TUF nowadays, so having champs on there only delays things. When they're hurt I understand trying to keep them in the spotlight, but even then it seems like it does more harm than good. Pettis could have fought already this year if it wasn't for TUF, and a guy like that needs as many opportunities to shine as he can. I know it was in Gil's contract to do TUF for a title shot, but I wish they could have compromised in another fashion instead of having two great lightweights on the shelf while the division stays fiercely active.

It's what they do in boxing if a champion is unable to defend his title they'll become "Champion Emeritus" instead of bring stripped of the title. and the top two contender's will fight for the belt. When the champion emeritus returns he'll fight the "Champ" in the next couple of fights.

Last major Champion Emeritus in boxing was Vitali Klitschko.

Solid card tonight, Aldo vs Mendes was a great fight. It pretty much went as I suspected, while Mendes has undoubtedly improved, he just hasn't closed the gap enough on Aldo. It will be interesting to see if there is a 3rd fight between the 2 because it was closer than I suspected it was going to be.

Mendes was throwing some good leg kicks at the start & mixing his levels up well so if he could continue to evolve that premise, he could prove more of a problem a 3rd time around as I felt he didn't do it enough once Aldo started nailing him with a couple of leg kicks & body punches.

Didn't get to watch the fights tonight. Heard Aldo/Mendes is a fight of the year contender though. True?

Yeah it's one of the better fights Ive seen this year that's for sure. Both Mendes and Aldo rocked each other a couple of times throughout fight.

Cris Cyborg's debut at 135 has been pushed back due to a severe injury in her ankle.

Invicta FC 10 will now be headlined in December, by one of the best female fighters on the planet, Atomweight Champion, Michelle "Karate Hottie" Waterson!!!!!

Cyborg's injury is a shame. But it's ok, I can wait a little longer to see Rhonda go to sleep.

I still don't understand how some people believe Cyborg can make 135. If Anthony Johnson has taught us anything, it's don't **** around when it comes to weight cutting, and I think that cut is just too self-destructive for Cyborg.

I think if the 2 ever meet Ronda will smash Cyborg. Aside from the fact her weight cut will be easier, have you ever seen Ronda when she spars with men? She is capable of throwing men double her size around, so if she can close the distance even for a moment Cyborg will be in trouble. Then when she gets her down, when you are that good at working for a particular submission, you know how people are going to react in each situation because you've done it a thousand times.

Not only do I think Ronda would win, I hope she does win as well, if they fight, because I can't stand Cris Cyborg. I think it's pretty blatant from just her appearance alone that she's been on & off steroids for years. Fair enough people can bring up that there are plenty of manly looking natural women bodybuilders, but now shes been caught once the cats out. She should be forced to do some sort of blood testing in the run up to any potential Ronda fight.

Rockhold VS Bisping on Friday, Shogun VS OSP on Saturday!

Yeah, should be a great weekend of fights. Can't wait to see Rockhold and Bisping go at it.

Hopefully Shogun can get back on track.

I love Shogun, but he's too inconsistent for me to be confident about picking him this weekend.

I think Rockhold dominates Bisping.

OH YES LORD

Why not do Shogun/Nogueira II now? Neither is relevant, but it's still a rematch many would like to see. Jacare vs. Rockhold II makes a lot of sense, but maybe they go the Rockhold vs. Romero route and have Jacare wait for the shot? There's a level of intrigue to Belfort vs. Weidman still then winner against either Jacare/Rockhold or Machida are fights I'm into.

Whatever they do with Rockhold and Jacare is fine by me, but I need to stop you right there with Shogun.

He is going to be coaching TUF Brazil 4 VS Anderson Silva's team, but I don't think they'll be fighting each other. Shogun is also starting to consider Middleweight.

What I wish he would seriously consider is retirement. He has become Brazil's Chuck Liddell, and Dana White needs to desperately give the man a desk job. Every time Shogun fights, it gets sadder and sadder to watch, because the man's body is about 20 years older than it says on his birth certificate. All the damage he's been doing to his body, from training with Chute Boxe as a teenager (where sparring and bar fights are one in the same), to going balls to the wall in PRIDE, to letting his knee get severely ****ed up twice, and now sustaining all this brain damage he has recently. The man's chin and stamina are long gone, and seeing him fight again would just be hard to watch.

I think that Shogun should retire too. His time is past, and I don't think it's worth it to continue once you've taken too much damage like he has recently. He could always try to fight scrubs like how they give Fabio Maldonado really horrid fighters in Brazil because they know he is possibly the worst fighter on the roster. If Shogun can't beat guys like that then he's a lost cause that needs to hang them up, but I don't think he should even risk it at this point.

Ditto. All he's doing at this point is tarnishing his own legacy

Melvin Guillard came in several pounds overweight for his WSOF title fight. He's been docked half of his purse and the fight is now a non-title bout.

Dude needs to see some professional help. His greatest enemy has always been himself, and he seems to keep losing when it counts the most.

UFC 180 is gonna be interesting. The main card is pretty damn solid, and the prelims are headlined by two chicks who have reputations for being scrappy!

I look forward to Stephan Bonnar sending Tito to the hospital for the one millionth time. One more whole punch on his hospital card, and Tito gets a free smoothie.

So this happened to Leslie Smith! HOLY SH**!

RIP Left Ear
