Ferguson/Johnson at UFC 197. Kind of odd with a guy on a seven fight win streak against someone coming off of a loss.

Yeah, doesn't make much sense, but nothing in the UFC does nowadays. Should still be an exciting fight, with Ferguson taking the win by submission. Still, I expect a slugfest for the first couple of minutes.

Cain got injured again (shocking I know), Stipe Miocic to replace him

Cain's glass body is really messing with his legacy. He's such a great fighter, but he can't stay healthy for ****. On the positive side at least this keeps us from another immediate rematch.

Cain gets hurt too easy. I suspect carrying too much weight is a factor. He could make 205. For years, we heard about what a beast he was at the gym. This is just me thinking out loud, but it could possibly be that he trains too hard. And with only 15 fights under his belt it may be time for him to step away.

There are some fighters/athletes you think would learn that once it had happened a couple of times to take their training intensity down a notch or just change the way they train in order to stay fit & prolong their career. Velasquez is one of them.

I personally thought he looked like crap against Werdum in their first fight & didn't actually warrant an immediate rematch anyway.

Seems like Werdum is out as well. Werdum pulls out just because Cain did so that means he was going to fight if Cain did? If I were Dana I'd fine these two by having both of them headline a card against each other in Idaho.

Lets hope that back injuries don't end up becoming a trend in 2016.

So, Jon Jones tweeted that if the title was on the line that he'd fight at 196. That's nuts. I saw a pic on Instagram where he said he was at 225, but man, he looks huge these days.

I think Jones could easily be HW champion. McGregor may inspire him to do it sooner than later.

I think I've heard Jones say on a couple of occasions, well when he was LHW Champions, that he would fight Velasquez at HW when he was the champion as well.

The HW division isn't looking so hot right now, you've Dos Santos & Overeem beating each other, then you've Travis Browne, Roy Nelson & whoever hanging around. None of them can string together 3 or 4 wins over one another.

I've seen Jon Jones on Instagram posting pictures of himself powerlifting & seemingly trying to add more muscle to his frame, so maybe after he fights Cormier he'll move up for a shot at HW title.

I'd love to see Rumble win a UFC title before he eventually retires. I've grown to like Rumble more & more, when he was at welterweight I didn't really like him because of how often he missed weight & in general I felt he should have fought at the very least a middleweight given how massive he was.

The sad thing is, he's probably hurt his own career by going through such extreme cuts they hurt his performances when he tried to fight at WW. Now at LHW he's actually fighting at a healthy weight, no extreme weight cuts & he's actually seeing the benefits by pretty much destroying that LHW division.

Rightly deserves the next title shot after presumably Jones fights Cormier which is also I think correct given that Jones was never actually defeated as champion. I would presume Jones vs Cormier II will be at UFC 200 in July & then depending on how beat up the winner of that is, Rumble could get his shot after that.

Rumble I bet could be a fairly competitive heavyweight if he wanted to. He already beat Andrei Arlovski if he wanted to.

For sure, he's a very big dude & he has the power & explosiveness to knock anybody out even heavyweights. DC actually impressed me in their bout because of how many of his power shots he was able to absorb, made a wise decision turning it into a grappling match because Rumble was launching bombs.

I realise he's put on even more muscle since his WW days, but I find it amazing someone of his frame size was ever able to make it that low. I read in the run up to the Bader fight people were calling him mentally weak, let me tell you, you are not mentally weak if you are able to cut the amount of weight he must have been cutting to get down to 170.

185 should have probably been his home earlier in his career, I don't think he'd have missed weight anywhere near as often as he did if he'd been at MW. Really boggles the mind to think how good he might have been had he been smarter earlier in his career, because he's just tearing through guys now he's actually more healthy.

Okay two things. First off UFC 199 main event has been announced as Chris Weidman will get his chance to avenge his one and only loss against champ Luke Rockhold.

Also Dana has confirmed that he's going to be contacting Jose Aldo about his next fight which will be for a title.

Jones vs Cormier set for UFC 197 on April 23rd

Jones going for title defense #9

Another. F-ing. Rematch.

It seems to be common practice now that if you defend your belt 1 or 2 times that seems to make you worthy to get an automatic rematch regardless of how quickly you were KO'd or how bad the ass kicking you took was.

Also Dana has confirmed that he's going to be contacting Jose Aldo about his next fight which will be for a title.

Also a joke, unless it's a rematch with McGregor which in turn would completely shaft Frankie who deserves the next shot at FW title.

Ben Rothwell vs. Junior Dos Santos April 10th in Zagreb, Croatia. Airing on Fox Sports 1. Pretty excited for this fight. If Rothwell wins you'd have to be looking at him for the winner of Velasquez vs. Werdum. If Dos Santos wins, that gets him back in the hunt probably a win away from getting another title shot. I was shocked they didn't do Miocic vs. Rothwell. Miocic has nothing lined up as of now unless they're going to do Miocic vs. Overeem #1 contender, but I haven't heard anything concerning Overeem re-signing with the UFC.
