This quote from Rousey's Instagram suddenly became hilarious to me.

They both shared the cockiness which led to their downfall, but big difference is Silva's only weakness at that point was overconfidence.

Rousey's entire fight game was just exposed. If she's not an idiot, she's going to have to come to terms with that if she wants to climb up again.

Either way this is going to be an interesting couple of months. I look forward to all the post-fight analyses and roundtable discussions.

Anderson did have flaws. He had okay TD, but he had no TDs of his own. Something that made Weidman merking him rather easy. He is still a top 5 ATG, but Sonnen almost beating him wasn't by accident.

But Ronda is crazy flawed in comparison. Again, I have said this more then once, the idea that she was even a very good fighter was insane. Her footwork is so bad.

Big ups to Holm for an emphatic KO, she deserves mad respect for an impressive performance.

Still backing RR for the rematch !

Keeps the sport interesting though (kind of like when the ABs get beaten).

I don't begrudge RR the trash talk, it's part of the sport - yes, I respected GSP for not doing it greatly.

But RRs antics have raised the profile of women in the UFC so I think she can be forgiven for a lot.

Dana White must be steaming right now. Not only because he lost his cash cow in Rousey, but because the HUUUUGE money he would've made from Rousey/Cyborg is gone.

And why?

Because Ronda was scared.

The only way they get close to those potential numbers again is if

A) The Holm/Rousey rematch happens soon as possible, and Ronda loses.

B) Holm then faces Cyborg and loses big, and

B) Rousey faces Cyborg to attempt to regain the title (rathee than defend it as expected). ESPECIALLY since we all know Cyborg would be the absolute favorite going in.

Famous people's public persona are often different from their actual selves particularly sportspeople who have to generate a certain degree of hype. I'm not saying RR is a saint, but unless you really know her and can speak to what sort of person she is....well it's tough to judge someone just from the trash talk.

The hate bandwagon is an easy one to jump on.

Ronda's old public persona was fake. As she got more and more popular, she let her real self show. Her own book shows her for who she is. She is the kind of person who calls out Floyd for hitting women while dating a woman beater. And I have disliked her for years. No bandwagon.

I wish i had stayed at the club to watch the fight. Lol. I figured it would be another like 10 second fight so I didn't bother watching it till I see these trending headlines. Looking at the two of them, Holm did look leaner, taller, and stronger than Rousey .

I still like Ronda but I give props to Holm. I wouldn't rush to get into a fight with either of these ladies...

Well fair enough - I don't disrespect your opinion, everyone's entitled to like what they like (and dislike what like). As for RR's real persona, who knows ? I doubt the book, which I've read part of, is that good an indication.

What we certainly will find out is if she has what it takes to get back in the ring, after a crushing loss, and regain her title.

That will tell us a lot about her. I think she's got what it takes, but if I get proven wrong, I'll freely admit it.

Just got back from Etihad stadium in Melbourne. That was incredible. The crowd went absolutely ballistic when Rousey hit the floor. Not because they wanted her to lose, but because it was just so shocking to see. Noone was expecting it to finish so dramatically and quickly in the second round.

Felt bad for Ronda. She looked absolutely shattered afterwards. Those two head shots after she hit the canvas were brutal.
