So Thiago Alves missed weight by a good 7 pounds. The fight is still on, at this point.
In bigger news, Kelvin Gastelum didn't even weigh in and tweeted that he couldn't make the weight, and his fight with Cerrone is off. Three times in less than three years, this is the biggest card in UFC history, and he doesn't even make an attempt. Dude was a fight or two away from a title shot. Total lack in discipline and professionalism what a waste of potential.

Meisha Tate announces her retirement.
It wasn't a supplement. It was a apparently an off brand erectile dysfunction pill. For a healthy 20 something year old athlete. So either he was off setting his coke habit or he was off setting his PED use. Or most likely, they found something to cover his illegal use of PEDs, imo. Both agree & disgree with what you've said, on one hand I think the excuse of 'tainted supplements' is very convenient excuse of someone who is potentially trying to wriggle out of any wrongdoing on a technicality.
But on the flip side I think what if well every case has been genuine & completely accidental. Like I do agree that yes athletes should know what's in any sort of pills or medicine they take &/or if it could cause them to be flagged. I can't help but think though a couple of years ago there was a scandal in the UK a few years ago in which beef products sold were found to contain horse meat which obviously wasn't listed on whichever particular product(s) they were in causing this massive uproar. Basically what I'm saying is bar actually sending the product they wished to take to be tested by USADA the likes of Jones or Romero could very well have been checking all these products contents before taking them with whatever they got popped for not being listed.
The whole excuse though does reek of the TRT situation in which it seems like this excuse is going to be abused just like TRT was.
I think she has the skills to work the television side if she so wishes. Or maybe she takes some time out, family perhaps.I wonder what Tate does now? My guess is that she becomes an MMA coach.
It's always interesting to see what happens to UFC Fighters when they retire. The day Brock Lesnar retired the first time, I thought "maybe he comes back to the WWE" and he did. The day that Ronda and/or Conor step away from MMA, the rumors of both heading to WWE would heat up.
