Okay, I'm sick of Mcdonalds lies

I remember when the hamburger was 69 cents and the cheeseburger was 79 cents. Those were the days.

So we're *****ing about 13 cents? I mean, seriously, if 13 cents have put you over the limit, you have much bigger financial problems.

money isn't the issue...

but when you have commercials stating that your burger is 99 cents, pre tax (or course I already expect to pay over a dollar after tax) and then when I get there, my burger is over a dollar, pre tax. What if I came with the exact change for 99 cent plus tax, and not 1.12 plus tax, huh?!

It was over a dollar before adding the tax? If that's so, why would you buy it if you only wanted to pay $0.99? And if you only brought $0.99, then you wouldn't be able to pay for it. It's pretty simple, really.

You know, commercials change all the time. There's always a risk when you're basing your purchases off of commercials, especially if you hadn't seen the commercial with that exact price on TV that week. Then there's those expiration dates in tiny letters on the bottom that tell you when the price is going to increase, which nobody can ever see.

That's why I always look at this neat invention called the menu. Tells you what the price is right there in the restaurant.

You know, if we had the FairTax... that little difference in change wouldn't matter because you'd be getting 100% of your paycheck and would gladly spend the difference. [/SuBe]
hahahahahaha

What in the name of God were you eating for one meal that cost 10 bucks? I buy the largest item on the menu, supersize it, etc, and it's like $7.00.

I always round :o $7 is just as much as $10. Dammit.

The difference between $7 and $10 is a whole 'nother meal.

I thought a double cheese burger was 99cents? Why did I pay a 1.12 for something that's supposed tobe 99cents?

And what's the difference between a "mcdouble" and a double cheeseburger?

And when the hell has it been the norm to spend 6 bucks on a big mac meal.

what the hell is going on?

no...because the tax wasn't on my tea. I seriously think the raised the price of the cheeseburger
For drinks, there's tax on drinks that are carbonated. You're paying CO2 tax. So drinks like water, tea, orange hi-c, etc aren't taxed while Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Mt. Dew, etc are.

God, I could go for some Dr. Pepper and a Cheeseburger now. I don't even eat meat and I'm craving one like mad. Damn this thread.

I was ( unfortunately ) working at McD's in '93 when the company did the 29c Hamburger and 39c Cheeseburger promotion. People would come in and buy as much as 20 at a time, mostly to put them in their freezer for later. I really, really, really don't miss my burger flipping days.:woot:

The fact that they took the burgers home and put them in their freezers is funny. Recent studies have shown that McDonald's food is less biodegradable than Styrofoam. Ever drop a french fry between the seats in your car, and find it completely in tact months later?

When did McDonald's start taxing people that sit down and eat? Or is that something that's always been around?

Yes, and seeing that has always grossed me out. It's like mad science. :csad:

I have not eaten anything from a McDonalds in 6 years. My IBS that developed over years of eating processed junk fast food because Mom didn't like to cook caught up with me.

Kinda messed up people in their late 20's & early 30's are developing chemical tolerances to fast food

Quoted For TRUTHINESS!!!

Behold the McTax.

This is way too true, especially with the fries. :csad:
