Could Marvel have made a mistake with hiring Watts to helm F4?
He's no Russo brother, for sure.
Except for a couple of good scenes, the MCU Spider-Man overall is one of the least good adaptions among the other solo flics. Doesn't matter that's it's the web-crawler, Marvel's biggest CB character. The MCU version is on pair with Ant-Man (who's got the upper hand among them because of its originality, and smaller scope).
And this has nothing to do with the great Holland or a few other actors, I'm talking the complete film.
Should Marvel have tried better with a property like F4? I mean, it's actually Fantastic Four we're talking about. A major thing in the history of Marvel Comics.
It seem to be hard to get them right in live action. And it appears that Marvel don't aim any particular high with their attempt either. More like "let's just get it done and be over with it".
It's like they don't want to try, or that they don't care.
Either they've become lazy, or overconfident that they will strike gold no matter what, or simply that F4 is uninteresting and should be treated as second-tier characters.
Would it be too much to want somebody like JJ Abrams for this? He's got quite good experience with big films, and they're all ensemble stories in a way. Even Super 8.
Let's hope Watts soon leave the project of creative differences and someone better replace him. It would benefit the final film a lot
If Sam Raimi, the man himself, can agree to do a Marvel film again, anything could happen.
Time for Abrams to enter MCU!!!!
And now I'm counting on getting some backlash for my opinion.
