I'd say hulks height hasn't been 7 ft tall since the 80s at least. Regardless of what any wiki page says. He generally 9ft imo. The thing shouldn't be taller than 7, but I'll settle for 6'2 and taller.

I dont much see the connection. They've probably had dark avengers and eternal lined up in the pipeline for years. Remember they had plans long before the fox deal was a thing. Some plans will definitely change, others won't budge. And given that we're getting skulls soon dark avengers is starting to make more and more sense. I'm sure marvel is cooking up a plan to work in the fox stuff but they also have plans they probably dont want to leave on the back burner.

Well Hulk in the MCU is about 9 feet. I don't want him only a little shorter than that. I certainly don't want him the height he was in Fant4stic. Taller than Chiklis (who was too short) but shorter than Jamie Bell's version.

7 feet is Hulk's traditional comic height. If Grimm is about 6'5" to 6'8", that would be fine.

But most artistic interpretations usually portrayed Ben's at around the same as the Hulk:

Hulk in the MCU is around 8 feet tall. A matchup between a 6'5 Thing and an 8 foot Hulk would look pretty laughable. I think the 2015 height was perfect, personally. The era of F4 I grew up with (late 90s- early 2000s was when I started reading comics) portrayed the Thing as much taller than the other members of the team.

I think it all comes down to the skill of the animators. As you can sort of see in that bust itself - which conveys some clear emotion - it's not really the eyes, but the facial movements around the eyes.

... but that raises another point that concerns me. For Ben to move, express etc., and for the "rocks" to remain solid, he needs enough "rocks" with enough gaps around those rocks that he can move. I don't know if there are enough joints in that specific bust to allow enough movement for expression without bending the "rocks".

Yeah good point. I suppose if they can animate a fish guy like in the shape of water it shouldn’t be too tough to do thing. Even now with thanos. It’s probably the best time to animate him properly actually as long as the actor is happy wearing a green suit

Yeah, I watched Korg very closely with this in mind, and I felt like he was a "good start", but I'm hoping they'll get a lot better before they try to do Ben.

I do want Ben to be broad and bulky, but I think 'double Korg's width' might be overdoing it.

I keep going back to this as very close to the design I'd like for Ben:

I'd like that general body shape with an about 6.5' height. I want to be careful about making him too big, because he has to be able to function. And if he's 7-8 feet tall and also very wide as some artists have drawn him, he won't be able to fit in a cab etc.

Him being wider than hulk in live action is too much. Imo.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen him bigger than hulk. He should be big, sure but not bigger. It also gives that rivalry just a bit more oomph too I think

MCU Thor is a lot smaller than the Hulk. He didn't look silly at all fighting him.

I'd like to see Ben take on the Hulk in a similar manner. Ducking, diving and counter punching. Hulk is a brute force brawler, but guys like Thor & Ben have better fighting skills. A prolonged fight suits the Hulk so they need to get good shots in fast while getting Hulk to swing big and miss.

The Thing doesn't just exist to fight Hulk though. The rest of the time he has to be relatable and able to function like other people. Ben Grimm needs to be more of an everyman who doesn't seem so monstrous and oversized that he doesn't fit in whatsoever.

He still needs to fit in the Fantasticar or even regular transport. Him fighting the Hulk represents such a small percentage of what he does that if you're going to make him so big just for that purpose, he won't work well the rest of the time.

He might look equal in height with Hulk for that one fight, but will look too giant next to everyone else when Hulk isn't there. So they need to think beyond the Hulk and more long term.

Eh... Thing IS supposed to at first glance be "monstrous". We as the fans love him and his personality but in translating the comics the truth is a live action Thing should be BIG. A lot bigger than the other members of the FF and traditionally Thing and Hulk are both huge bruisers. MCU Hulk certainly is and I think he looks fine standing next to the other Avengers. Ben has never been at tall as Hulk but he's never looked like a normal human or even a big wide normal human in comparison to Hulk. He's had similar "monstrous" proportions. I would hope and MCU Thing would line up visually with that tradition.

I think given an appropriate height, width, and mass of his chest, arms, and hands he could look monstrous. Also given the rock pattern and texture/coloring on the surface could add to him looking disturbing (in the best way possible.)

If Ben were a little shorter than Korg, but still very broad, he and Hulk would match up well and be consistent with what we've seen in the comics.

Watching Silicon Valley and The Big Sick, I think Kumail Nanjiani could be a good Reed. Him or Danny Pudi, as if anyone even remembered him in Winter Soldier.

Marvel Studios will probably never let people from the comics side give them script notes again. Feige threatened to quit in order to stop just that. He'll hire good writers and a director and let them craft the script.

The problem is we, as fans, could draw up a list of 1000 things we want to see, and we're only going to get a tiny fraction of those things. Over the next ten years, if we're lucky, we might get two or three FF films and a couple of crossovers, so we're not likely to get all the things we want (Thing Vs. Hulk, Johnny and Spidey, Reed and Tony Stark, FF and Black Panther, FF and Inhumans etc. etc. etc.).

That's the reason I've always told my friends I don't have a "bucket list". There are a lot of things I'd like to see and do, but I'd rather appreciate the things I get to do rather than feel disappointed for the things I didn't get to do, and that's the attitude I have with special moments with the FF that I'm looking forward to.

I mean, hulk as a supporting character works really well because people love him and there’s an issue with the rights. Black panther would make an epic post credits sequence or even just a quick scene like mr fantastic getting vibraniun to build an impenetrable prison or trap
