Days of Future Past "Only have one more new character" in sequel says Vaughn

But Havok and Cyclops would have the same power, which equals lame.

They powers are different. Although with the movie you'd never know it since they gave Havok Red Beams now. Havok's plams is hot and not concussive like Scott's. How Riptide wasn't burnt to a crisp is beyond me.

If they have Scott and Alex in the same film they should have Havok's power expand to look more like his comic abilities. Maybe say he can make his beams can become hot enough that they turn blue or yellow. I would also love if smaller energy circles permeated more from his body as he used his powers like in the comics.

I want Polaris too.

But I want her with her link to Magneto.

Its a difficult subplot, but they can really write it well, if want it.

I would rather make Polaris a X-student than Magneto's daughter to keep things simpler.

back on topic...

if Vaughn and Singer finally decide to include only one new x-men...

would you preffer a girl or a boy?

It should be a girl which is Polaris.

The X-Men team can't have 5 boys while the Brotherhood has 3 girls and 3 guys.

4 boys* (Havok/Banshee/Beast/Xavier) (NOW paralyzed) atleast the early brother hood (still hellfire club) has 6 mutants that are able to walk.

Idk if Polaris will be in it just because her story isn't really following upto what they have going so far.. Tbh I believe it may be

My guess is gonna be one of these 4.

One of the three I could pick out in Cerebro scene

Dazzler, Cyclops or Storm

or Gambit. (His appearence in Wolverine Origins, and Riptide's presence leads this to a possible guess)

Id like Polaris....

but Im starting to like the idea of Jean.

And if Fox want another one, Scott.

Two sequels to develop these two important characters.

May I remind people Inless we jump ahead 14 or 15 years you can't have have Cyclops,Jean,or Storm In It.And putting them In a 1970's means you are saying X-Men/X2(and Last Stand If you want to Include it) happened In the early 1990's.

Other than the N*SYNC song in X2, X1 & X2 can easily take place in the 90's.

It's very easy for them to say X-Men and X2(and last Stand as well If it Is not totally
Ignored) took place In the 1990's and bring In Cyclops and Jean In a mid to late
1970's set first Class sequel assuming there Is a sequel.

And the Mazda RX-8.

X1 could have easily happened in 2000. If Jean, Scott, Storm, etc. are late 30s or early 40s, which is totally plausible, then they could have been born in the late 50s or early 60s and be teenagers in a 70s flick.

You know what? **** it. I don't care what it screws up, I want Cyclops to come into the picture at some point and finally be given a fair shake.

Yes, Blitzkrieg Bop...you've come over to the right side! Seriously though, at the beginning of X1 it says in the not too distant future, or something like that. It never gives an exact date of what year it is. It could be in the 1990s.

I think that fudging with the dates is fine if it helps Vaughn and company use characters and tell a story that they want to tell. I don't think they should be kept from using Scott or Jean because of continuity...because X1 took place in the 2000s, or so some say.

Dazzler? She wasn't in the Cerebro scene

I would leave Cyclops until towards the end of X:SC when Havok's story arc is completed.

X2 introduced Nightcrawler, Deathstrike and Stryker and the movie was excellent. But I guess because Toad and Sabretooth were gone.

May be one major villian, Stryker and his mutant son, Jason.

Hopefully they add another female mutant like Armor,Boom-Boom,Dazzler,Dust,Husk,Magma,Mercury,Skids,Surge or Sway

The timeline setting of these films has always been hazy. The first film sets the trilogy in "The not too distant future", which doesn't give it a specific time setting.

Whatevs. I really don't care. I'm not going to worry too hard over the ages in one movie compared to another, and how they match up exactly or not. It's movies. Shaky timelines. It's never been strict.

If I can accept James Bond never aging over 20+ movies, if I can accept The Simpsons never aging over 20+ years, hell if I can accept X-Men characters never aging over 50 years of comics, I can accept my X-Men characters being a few years off in their ages in the films.

What does Riptide have to do with Wolverine? That wasn't him as a captive in Origins.
Dazzler? She wasn't in the Cerebro scene
Yeah, there's no Dazzler in the Cerebro scene.

Exactly. I don't know why people care about keeping continuity this strict. First class is as of yet the only movie to be set in a "real year". And I can pretty much guarantee that very few people will be watching the movie really wondering how old any of the characters are.

I would say that the only true argument against using Cyclops in a sequel is his power is so similar to Havoks that unless they actually write distinct arcs/personalities for these characters and develop them then they are redundant.

I think Havok and Cyclops could easily work in a film together, especially if they have a massive fight.
