Its good to know there will still be Jaegars in the sequel. After some of GDT's comments about the battles for the sequel I was afraid it would be all ground fighting.

Even after Del Toro talked about Jaeger/Kaiju hybrids?

Well that was just after the first movie came out and they were expecting it to make more. I believe the budget is slightly reduced for this sequel now?

I assumed they were cutting corners through Chinese production.
Does this also mean even less Jaegers and Kaiju?

Could make for an interesting story given I'm seeing some Maze Runner scribes, wherein these recruits had the misfortune of being trapped - low on fuel to get back to base/comms are down - or considering a really distinct sequel, more like a spinoff at this point, where they would integrate a lot of Atlantis: the Lost Empire. Although, 'Uprising' is about as subtle as it can be as if to say the last one didn't have a grand enough uprising.

I'm glad Rinko, Charlie Day and Burn Gorman are back. I liked their characters a far deal more than Charlie Hunnam's.

Nice.

Now I just need Ramin Djawadi to return. If he has the time...

Urban says he isn't in the film...

Oh wow Urban seems to be in everything these days.

I hope with a name like Quan though he's not playing a Vietnamese person Emma Stone style

Edit: due to the last post, oh that seems strange!

It's his sister Karla Urban. The "a" fell off on that sign. :o

Rinko is back? Ticket bought.

Awesome that Rinko is back, she was a highlight of the first.

Strange what's going on with Urban but will be great if he is in!

I'm also assuming that they aren't building the multistory actor torture device/death trap that Del Toro used for the cockpits.

That's part of the branding at this point.

I'm sure they will build cockpit sets. Just not as elaborate as what Del Toro built.

He might just be denying it. I feel like that happens with every other movie these days where an actor can't talk about his/her role.

If this is true, it wouldn't be the first time in this series. Ron Perlman played Hannibal Chau in the first one, though that was most likely an alias.

He did explain that the name Hannibal is a reference to Hannibal Barca and Chau is from his second favorite Szechuan restaurant in Brooklyn.

Ah, right. I forgot that line.

There was a punch line you missed:

"You like the name? I took it from, uh, my favorite historical character and my second-favorite Szechuan restaurant in Brooklyn. Now tell me what you want, before I gut ya like a pig and feed you to the skin loose!"

I don't care what Karl Urban says, you can't convince me otherwise that this doesn't say his name in this pic!

Also looks like it could be fake.
