The new Jaegar look sleeker. I guess we are going to see more of them and not just three.

I've never heard of an opening ceremony dance in China before

Can't wait to find out more about this movie. I wonder which cities it will be set in?

Lol, I bet there was some conflicts alright.

I am disappointed Hunnam won't be reprising his role but I still can't wait to see what they come up with for this sequel. Specifically, I'd like to see how far they're going to take the Kaiju designs this go around. Given the humans' success the last go around, I'd imagine they'd want to go far bigger than they did before. How far up will the category system go?

Hunnam not being in it isn't exactly a new revelation.

“He was like, ‘Dude, you were going to do that other film and that’s where your heart is. I don’t want you being on set if you’re not going to be happy, so go do the other film,’ which was ludicrously generous of him. But that’s just the type of man he is.”
mmmmkay...

I would have at least liked a cameo from Hunnam for continuity's sake. I hope they don't kill him off screen.

:hehe: that is very likely. Hey I like Boyega better, but yeah I would have liked to see him return.

Pacific Rim is on tv right now and my God, it's just hitting me how bad Hunnam was miscast in the role. He was a serious detriment to the film. He clunks every single sentence that comes out of his mouth and I think the studio realized that hence casting Boyega. You need a guy like Boyega or Michael B Jordan in the role, someone young, fun and charismatic that can carry the film in between Kaiju battles.

It was a live action anime, the characters were all anime archetypes. And that includes the boring lead.

I get that but having a boring lead is fatal in a movie like this. I think the film did everything right except casting its lead character and ultimately I think that hurt the movie BO wise. They needed someone fun and with charisma to keep the audience engaged.

Dunno about fun, but Mako and Stacker stole the spotlight. More of those 2 and less of Raleigh would've been better.

There's a chance Scott Eastwood might get complaints for being wooden in this one, but he's been doing fine so far in the little roles he's gotten.

If Boyega brings that same energy he had in TFA then I think that's already giving the movie a serious boost.

Fun and charismatic starts in the script. How would Hunnam's character work as fun and charismatic? the first act would have to be completely changed.
